Compliancely

Is Compliancely worth it?

Compliancely is genuinely best for finance, tax and HR teams with a steady monthly volume of US identity and business checks, who would rather buy TIN matching, KYB, I-9 and sanctions screening behind one API than integrate three separate vendors. It suits those willing to run a sales conversation to price the modules beyond TIN matching. Skip it if you need a handful of one-off verifications a year. The cheapest plan still bills a monthly allowance whether you use it or not, and the per-match rate is at its worst down there. Also skip it if you need the full cost of a compliance stack on paper before you talk to a salesperson, since only the TIN-match tiers are published.

How much does Compliancely cost?

(2026-07-29, re-verified 2026-08-05, read in a live browser session on their own pricing page, both billing toggles) The published price list covers one product only: TIN-match volume. Billed annually, Essential 25 is $16.95/mo for 25 monthly TIN verifications ($0.67 per match), Essential 50 $32.54/mo ($0.65), Essential 75 $45.79/mo ($0.61), Plus 100 $57.99/mo ($0.57) and Plus 250 $135.04/mo ($0.54). Switch the toggle to monthly billing and the same five tiers read $19.95, $38.49, $53.95, $67.95 and $159.95 per month, at $0.79 down to $0.63 per match. The page advertises 15% off for annual billing, and the real gap holds at roughly 15% on every tier. Enterprise is quote-only. Everything else Compliancely sells carries no public price at all: the business verification and credit-risk report packages, address verification, Form I-9, IRS tax transcripts and income verification each end in Contact Sales or Book a Demo rather than a number. Compliancely's partner team told us on 5 August 2026 that the published tiers are meant for buyers up to roughly 3,000 checks and that anything above that moves to a custom quote — that threshold is theirs, not a number the pricing page states. They confirmed on 11 August 2026 that buyers over that line are sent to their demo-request form at compliancely.com/demo-request, where the quote is written by hand; there is no published rate card for that range at all. Always verify the live price.

From the Compliancely review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
What is the catch with Compliancely?

The pricing page prices one product and the marketing sells about a dozen. Every tier you can actually buy online is an allowance of TIN verifications. The moment you want the things the homepage leads with — KYB business verification, credit-risk assessment, address verification, Form I-9 and E-Verify, IRS tax transcripts, OFAC and watchlist monitoring — the button changes from Get Started to Contact Sales. So the compliance stack this tool is pitched as has no advertised cost, and the number you can see is the smallest part of it. The second thing to read carefully is that the tiers are allowances rather than rates. You commit to a monthly verification count up front, and the per-match price moves against the smallest buyers. It is $0.79 a check on the cheapest month-to-month plan versus $0.54 on the largest annual one — a 46% spread that falls the wrong way for anyone testing the product at low volume. If your usage is lumpy — a filing-season spike and eleven quiet months — an allowance you buy every month is the wrong shape, and the prepaid option the page offers as a third toggle is worth asking about before you subscribe.

Connecteam

Is Connecteam worth it?

Connecteam is genuinely best for deskless and frontline teams (shift work, field crews) that need scheduling, a time clock and comms in one app, on the free-for-10 plan. Skip it if your whole team sits at desks with email and Slack — this is built for the frontline, and a general PM tool fits an office better.

From the Connecteam review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
How much does Connecteam cost?

(re-verified 2026-08-17) The free tier is real and not a trial: the Small Business Plan is $0 for life, covers up to 10 users and includes all hubs and features. Above that you buy per hub — Operations, Communications or HR — and each hub is priced for the first 30 users with a per-user surcharge after that. The published per-user rates run from $0.50 to $5.00 a month depending on hub and tier, with the yearly and monthly columns shown side by side. The cheapest paid entry is well under a dollar per user a month at the Basic level, which is why the headline looks so low against competitors. Price it per hub you will actually switch on, not per user. Always verify the live price.

From the Connecteam review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
What is the catch with Connecteam?

The free-for-10 plan is one of the most generous in the category, but the three-hub structure means costs can stack if you need all of them — price the specific hubs you'll actually use, not the full bundle.

Consensus

Is Consensus worth it?

Consensus is genuinely best for researchers, clinicians, students and writers who want evidence-backed answers drawn from peer-reviewed papers instead of the open web. Skip it if your questions are practical/commercial rather than research-based (a general AI assistant fits), or you need full systematic-review rigor (this accelerates it, not replaces it).

From the Consensus review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
How much does Consensus cost?

(re-verified 2026-08-17, with a caveat) Consensus blocks plain fetches of its pricing page and neither our July nor our August 2026 capture retrieved an amount, so today's figures are not independently confirmed. Our dated reading: a free tier with essential search; Pro about $15/mo, or roughly $10/mo billed annually, with unlimited Pro searches and 15 Deep searches; a Deep tier adding around 200 Deep searches for power users; Teams and Enterprise quoted. The unit that matters is Deep searches rather than seats — that is what the tiers ration. Always verify the live price.

From the Consensus review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
What is the catch with Consensus?

It searches peer-reviewed literature, which is its strength and its boundary: it can tell you what published studies found, not whether those studies are good. Study quality, sample sizes and conflicting results still need your judgment, and the AI summary layer can smooth over genuine scientific disagreement. Treat it as a dramatically faster literature scan, not an oracle; click through to the papers that matter.

Consentmo

Is Consentmo worth it?

Consentmo is genuinely best for Shopify merchants selling into several jurisdictions who want one app to carry the cookie banner, the consent signals the ad platforms now demand, and a first layer of accessibility — and who go in knowing that the region-aware banner and the accessibility tools sit on the $37 tier.. Skip it if you sell outside Shopify; you need one plain cookie banner in one country, which the free tier or your theme already covers; or you need an actual accessibility audit and repair of your theme rather than a widget and a scanner..

From the Consentmo review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
How much does Consentmo cost?

(read 2026-09-08 on apps.shopify.com/gdpr-backpack and on the vendor's own consentmo.com/pricing, which list the same four tiers) Billed in USD every 30 days, with a 7-day free trial on each paid tier. Banner impressions are unlimited on every tier, the free one included, so the ladder gates features rather than traffic. Free costs nothing and covers the cookie banner and preferences, the data-request and Do-Not-Sell pages, one banner language and one cookie scan a month, with minimal Consentmo branding on the banner. Standard is $10 a month or $100 a year (17% off) and adds unlimited cookie scans, multi-region compliance (GDPR, CCPA, PIPEDA and others), Google Consent Mode v2 and Meta, Microsoft and TikTok integrations, US opt-out signals, script blocking, multilingual banners with automatic detection, automatic Google Drive backups and removal of the branding. Plus is $37 or $370 a year and is where the accessibility side starts: web accessibility (ADA/WCAG), smart geotargeting, the EU withdrawal page for Directive 2023/2673, automated monitoring, scheduled scans, AI cookie categorisation, advanced analytics and full CSS customisation. Enterprise is $64 or $640 a year for IAB TCF 2.3, cross-domain consent sharing, a checkout banner for Shopify Plus, Hydrogen and headless support, A/B testing, an alt-text manager, bot and crawler protection and priority support. Always verify the live price.

From the Consentmo review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
What is the catch with Consentmo?

Read the ladder before you budget $10 for this. The two things the listing leads with — web accessibility and a smart, region-specific banner — are not on Standard; they start at Plus, $37 a month, which is 3.7 times the entry price. A Shopify Plus store that wants a banner on the checkout needs Enterprise at $64, and so does anything headless or on Hydrogen. The accessibility side is a widget and a scanner: it overlays controls and flags issues, but it does not change the theme markup underneath, which is where an accessibility audit actually looks — treat it as a first layer, not as a remediation. And the free tier puts Consentmo's own branding on the banner your visitors see first.

Contractor Foreman

Is Contractor Foreman worth it?

Contractor Foreman is genuinely best for small and mid-size contractors who want estimating, scheduling and daily logs in one place and can commit to a year — the company-wide fee makes it cheap per head once you have a crew. Skip it if you are a sole trader with a handful of jobs, because Basic at $49 a month annual is real money against a spreadsheet and a calendar — though the 30-day trial and the conditional 100-day refund mean trying it costs nothing but your time.

From the Contractor Foreman review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
How much does Contractor Foreman cost?

(re-verified 28 Aug 2026 on their own pricing page; all plan prices unchanged since 1 Aug 2026) Priced for the company rather than per seat, with unlimited projects on every tier, and every plan opens with 30 days free before the first bill. Annual: Basic $49/month ($588 a year, 1 user), Standard $105 ($1,264, 3 users), Plus $166 ($1,997, 8 users), Pro $221 ($2,654, 15 users), Unlimited $332 ($3,984, unlimited users). Quarterly costs more for the same plans: Standard $132/month ($395 a quarter), Plus $206 ($619), Pro $282 ($845), Unlimited $415 ($1,245). Basic is not offered quarterly. Their own wording: the fee listed is the fee for the company as a whole. Card payments taken through the built-in Stripe integration are billed separately at 2.9% + $0.30 a transaction (3.9% + $0.30 for Amex, 1% + $0.30 capped at $10.00 for ACH). Always verify the live price.

From the Contractor Foreman review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
What is the catch with Contractor Foreman?

Credit where it is due first: this is company pricing with unlimited projects and no per-user overage inside your tier, which is rare in construction software and genuinely cheaper than per-seat rivals for a crew. The catch is the billing term. Quarterly costs 26% more than annual on the same plan — $132 against $105 on Standard — and Basic is not sold quarterly at all, so the cheapest way in requires a year paid up front. The user counts are the real ladder: 1, 3, 8, 15, unlimited. A five-person crew is not on Standard at $105, it is on Plus at $166, so count your licence holders before you compare against anything else.

Convert

Is Convert worth it?

Convert is genuinely best for CRO teams running serious A/B and multivariate testing who want a privacy-first, GDPR-friendly alternative to the big experimentation suites. Skip it if your traffic is modest — statistical significance needs volume, and 100K tested users a month is more than most small sites can use — or your landing-page tool's built-in testing covers it.

From the Convert review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
How much does Convert cost?

(re-verified 2026-08-21 on their own pricing page) 15-day standard free trial — through our link it's an exclusive 30-day full-access trial (verified 16 Jul 2026, no credit card). Growth $399/mo, or $299/mo paid annually ($3,588/yr), and includes 100K tested users a month; Pro $599/mo, or $420/mo annually ($5,040/yr), and includes 1M a month; Enterprise on request. Overuse is metered — $399 per extra 100K on Growth, $699 per 250K on Pro, and it can be switched off — and each additional custom domain costs $1,000/year. Convert deliberately ships no heatmaps or exit popups, calling this a best-of-breed strategy, and charges no extra fee for its integrations. Always verify the live price.

From the Convert review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
What is the catch with Convert?

The meter is tested users, and it keeps running: blow past your monthly allowance and overuse blocks land at $399-699 unless you hard-cap them — and every extra custom domain is $1,000 a year. The friendly $299 headline assumes annual prepay; month-to-month is $399. One thing people misprice, and it is not the test itself: everyone expects an experiment to end when the subscription does. The trap is the winner. Convert describes itself as a client-side tool where “adding just one snippet of code on your site will then do all of the magic”. So a winning variant you leave running in the visual editor is not a change to your site — it is a rendering by their script. Ship the winner into your own code, or you are paying rent on a result you already bought.

CrankWheel

Is CrankWheel worth it?

CrankWheel is genuinely best for sales reps, insurance agents and consultants who need prospects to view a screen instantly with no download or install, on any device. Skip it if you need full video conferencing, webinars or team collaboration (Zoom/Meet fit better), or your call volume stays under the free tier.

From the CrankWheel review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
How much does CrankWheel cost?

(read on crankwheel.com/pricing, 2026-08-21) A free plan with no payment details required — unlimited usage for the first 15 days, then up to 15 sessions a month for life. Solo is $29/month for one user with unlimited usage, up to 30 viewers per share and up to 10 video-conferencing participants. Team starts at $99/month for unlimited users sharing 100 meetings a month, rising in steps: Team 200 $194, Team 500 $467, Team 1000 $882, Team 2000 $1,562. Busy User discount plans cost less for a capped number of users — Team 100 at $59 for three users, Team 500 at $287 for fifteen. Enterprise is quoted per year and the page prints no figure. A meeting counts at 40 seconds with a viewer, or when you create a share link or segment, or on an Instant Demo call. Always verify the live price.

From the CrankWheel review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
What is the catch with CrankWheel?

It's deliberately narrow — instant, no-download screen sharing for sales calls — so it's excellent at that one job and thin everywhere else: no full video-conferencing suite, no deep collaboration or webinar tooling. Mind which plan caps what: the free plan drops to 15 sessions a month after the first fortnight and Team puts everyone on a shared pool of 100, while Solo is the one paid tier with unlimited usage. If you want an all-purpose meeting platform, this isn't it; if you want prospects to see your screen in seconds with zero friction, that focus is exactly why it works.

From the CrankWheel review — hand-researched, sources on the page.

Crazy Egg

Is Crazy Egg worth it?

Crazy Egg is genuinely best for lean marketing teams that want heatmaps, recordings and built-in A/B testing in one consolidated tool — noting that testing starts on the $99 plan, not the $29 one. Skip it if you want generous recordings, automatic heatmaps and qualitative feedback — Hotjar's free tier and product depth suit product teams better.

From the Crazy Egg review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
How much does Crazy Egg cost?

(2026-08-21, read on their own pricing page) Three plans, all billed annually, with a 30-day free trial and — in the vendor's words — no overages, ever. Analytics starts at $29/month and scales on tracked pageviews across 5,000, 50,000, 150,000, 500,000 and 1,000,000 a month, starting at 50 recordings. Growth starts at $99/month, but its slider starts at 50,000 pageviews rather than 5,000, and includes 500 recordings plus A/B testing, CTAs and targeting by device type. Enterprise is quoted. Note a conflict in the vendor's own material: their machine-readable pricing.md still lists an older Starter/Plus/Pro/Enterprise ladder at $29/$99/$249/$599 with different pageview allowances. The live pricing page is the one we read for the figures above. Always verify the live price.

From the Crazy Egg review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
What is the catch with Crazy Egg?

The entry plan is thin on recordings — 50 a month against Hotjar's far more generous free tier. And A/B testing is not in it at all: that starts on Growth at $99, whose pageview slider begins at 50,000 rather than 5,000. Heatmaps need manual per-page setup and annual-only billing locks you in. Like all these tools it's diagnostic — it shows what's broken, it doesn't fix it. Worth knowing before you treat a result as banked: Crazy Egg states it can run A/B tests “after implementing just a small code snippet directly on the website”, which means a winning variant is served by that snippet rather than written into your pages. Stop paying and the original page is what visitors get. Move the winner into your own templates once a test settles.

From the Crazy Egg review — hand-researched, sources on the page.

Credit Repair Cloud

Is Credit Repair Cloud worth it?

Credit Repair Cloud is genuinely best for entrepreneurs building or running a credit-repair business who need client management, dispute automation and done-for-you letter workflows. Skip it if you just want to fix your own personal credit (you don't need this), or you're not prepared for the sales and compliance work a client business demands.

From the Credit Repair Cloud review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
How much does Credit Repair Cloud cost?

(price re-verified 2026-08-21 against the vendor's own pricing page, and now with the published limits rather than approximations) There are five plans, priced monthly. Personal is $49 for 1 user and up to 3 friends and family, and Start $179 for up to 3 users and 300 active clients. Grow is $299 for 6 users and 600 clients, and Scale $399 for 12 users and 1,200 clients. Enterprise is $599 for 24 users and 2,400 clients. Annual billing takes 20% off and is shown as a monthly equivalent on the four business tiers: $143.20, $239.20, $319.20 and $479.20. Every plan carries a 30-day free trial, the vendor states it charges no startup fees, and monthly plans have no long-term contract while annual plans require a one-year term. Always verify the live price.

From the Credit Repair Cloud review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
What is the catch with Credit Repair Cloud?

This is business-in-a-box software for starting a credit-repair company, not a tool that repairs your own credit — the price only makes sense if you're actually building a client business on it. The middle tiers jump fast as you add clients and seats, and success depends far more on your sales and compliance discipline (credit repair is a regulated space) than on the software. Buy it as an operator, not a consumer.

From the Credit Repair Cloud review — hand-researched, sources on the page.

CrowdStrike

Is CrowdStrike worth it?

CrowdStrike is genuinely best for small and mid-size companies that want a serious endpoint agent without running a security team — Falcon Go is genuinely priced for businesses under 100 devices. Skip it if you are under ten devices and already run a maintained operating system with its built-in protection, because at that size the management overhead outweighs the gain; also skip Go if you actually need EDR, since that starts a tier up.

From the CrowdStrike review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
How much does CrowdStrike cost?

(2026-08-28, taken from the bundle table on their pricing page; the three published per-device rates have not moved since 1 Aug 2026) Priced per device. Falcon Go $7.99 per device per month, or $59.99 per device billed annually — capped at a maximum of 100 devices. Falcon Pro $14.99 monthly or $99.99 annually per device. Falcon Enterprise $19.99 per device per month, or $184.99 per device billed annually — a rate the 1 Aug reading recorded as unpublished. Larger tiers and managed services are quote-only. The free trial is a single 15-day Falcon Free Trial covering Next-Gen Antivirus, Device Control and Express Support, not a trial of each paid tier. Annual subscriptions are billed in full at the start of the term and can be cancelled within 30 days for a full refund. Always verify the live price.

From the CrowdStrike review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
What is the catch with CrowdStrike?

Two numbers decide whether this is for you, and neither is the headline. The first is the 100-device ceiling on Falcon Go: it is not a soft limit you grow through, it is the point where you change product. The second is the annual rate, which is worth doing the division on — $59.99 a year against $7.99 a month is $95.88, so annual saves 37%, one of the larger annual discounts in security software. Beyond that, be honest with yourself about which tier you are comparing: Go is antivirus with a good agent, and the endpoint detection and response that CrowdStrike is famous for starts at Pro. Comparing Go against a full EDR product from a competitor is comparing the wrong things.

From the CrowdStrike review — hand-researched, sources on the page.

Databox

Is Databox worth it?

Databox is genuinely best for SMBs and agencies that want clean KPI dashboards from 130+ one-click integrations without building them by hand. Skip it if you only need one or two data sources (the per-source fees add up), or you want deep custom data modelling — a free tool like Looker Studio fits better.

From the Databox review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
How much does Databox cost?

(re-verified 2026-08-13, read on their own pricing page) There is a free plan: Free at $0 with 3 data sources, 1 user, 1 dashboard or report and 50 AI credits a month. Paid tiers, billed annually: Analyst $64/mo (5 data sources, 1 user, 500 AI credits), Pro $159/mo (3 sources included, $5.60/mo per extra, unlimited users, 1,500 credits), Growth $399/mo (4,000 credits, 15-minute sync) and a custom tier. AI credits are one shared monthly pool for the Genie assistant and the MCP server, so heavy AI use is what moves you up a tier rather than seats. Always verify the live price.

From the Databox review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
What is the catch with Databox?

The pricing model bites: Pro connects only 3 data sources, so the per-source fees stack up fast — and for agencies juggling many clients with diverse tools it gets expensive. Power users may also find the custom-metric and data-modelling depth limited next to a full BI tool.

From the Databox review — hand-researched, sources on the page.

Datarails

Is Datarails worth it?

Datarails is genuinely best for Excel-bound finance teams that have outgrown the spreadsheet plumbing but not the spreadsheets — consolidating several entities or data sources into one governed set of numbers, with planning, reporting and dashboards on top, while the models stay in Excel. Skip it if you are a single-entity company whose budget lives in one workbook, or a team of two that just needs a dashboard — the quote-only sales motion and the tier caps cost more in elapsed time than the problem is worth at that size.

From the Datarails review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
How much does Datarails cost?

(read 2026-08-25 on www.datarails.com/pricing) There is no public price. Datarails publishes three plans — Professional, Premium and Expert — and every one of them carries a Request Quote button where the number would be. The page frames that as a feature: “Get a custom quote tailored to your needs. Complete cost transparency, with no consultant fees—ever.” What the page does publish is the shape of the ladder, and it is unusually explicit about what changes between tiers. The comparison table lists the same feature set on all three plans: reporting, planning, dashboards, Data Mapper, Lookups, Workflows, Submit Button, File Boxes, Filters, version control, the Datarails AI Suite, the FinanceOS AI Connector and permissions. Only two rows differ. Professional gives 1 integration and 2 users with standard support. Premium, marked most popular, gives 2 integrations and 5 users with premium support, and adds AI Storyboards, described as board decks in one click. Expert gives 3 integrations and 15 users with premium support, plus one “additional product included” — the line beyond FP&A runs to Datarails Month-End Close, Datarails Cash, Datarails Spend Control and Datarails Desk, and the page does not say which of those the extra slot may be spent on. So the meter is seats and connected systems, not features. The page states no currency, no billing period, no minimum term and does not say whether a quote is annual, and there is no free plan, no free trial and no self-serve signup: the only entry point on every page of the site is Request Demo or Request Quote. Treat any Datarails figure you have seen quoted elsewhere as unverified — on 25 August 2026 the vendor's own pricing page contains no amount at all. One of those unpublished terms the vendor will answer if you ask. On 31 August 2026, through its partner team, Datarails told us that customers typically commit to an annual term, that billing can run monthly across that year, that users can be added as a team grows, and that adding modules or capabilities beyond the core platform can carry an extra cost that depends on the scope of the expansion. That is the vendor's own account rather than a published rate, so it belongs in your quote in writing — but it does answer the term question the pricing page leaves open. Always verify the live price.

From the Datarails review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
What is the catch with Datarails?

You cannot find out what it costs without talking to sales, and the entry plan is smaller than it looks: Professional covers 2 users and 1 integration, so a finance team of three, or one that needs both the ERP and the CRM connected, is priced into the next tier before the conversation starts. There is no free plan, no free trial and no self-serve signup anywhere on the site — every path ends at Request Demo — so there is no way to try it quietly before procurement is involved.

From the Datarails review — hand-researched, sources on the page.

Deel

Is Deel worth it?

Deel is genuinely best for companies hiring internationally without local entities — contractors paid compliantly in 150+ countries, or full EOR employment where you need someone on the ground fast. Skip it if your team is all-domestic (a local payroll tool is far cheaper), or you hire enough people in one country that opening your own entity beats paying per-employee EOR fees forever.

From the Deel review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
How much does Deel cost?

(re-verified 2026-08-17) Pricing is per worker and demo-led, and each product is priced separately. HR and hiring tools start at $14 per worker a month. Contractor management is $49 per contractor a month, or $325 per month per Contractor of Record if you want Deel to carry the compliance risk. US PEO starts at $125 per employee a month. And EOR, where Deel employs your international hire, starts at $599 per employee a month. There is a free demo and final quotes come through sales. The spread is the point: the same headcount costs $14 or $599 a month depending on which relationship you need, so identify the employment model before comparing vendors. Always verify the live price.

From the Deel review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
What is the catch with Deel?

Every price is a ‘starting at’ and every button says ‘book a demo’ — the real bill depends on countries, benefits and add-ons, and only firms up in a sales conversation. And know what EOR money buys: at $599+/month per employee you’re paying for compliance risk transfer, not software — worth it in unfamiliar jurisdictions, expensive where you could open your own entity.

From the Deel review — hand-researched, sources on the page.

Deputy

Is Deputy worth it?

Deputy is genuinely best for shift-based businesses — hospitality, retail, healthcare, any hourly workforce — that need rostering, clocking and labour-law compliance in one system and have enough staff to clear the minimum spend. Skip it if you run a small salaried desk team: the $30 monthly minimum means you pay for roughly six users whether you have them or not, and salaried staff rarely need shift-level clocking at all.

From the Deputy review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
How much does Deputy cost?

(2026-07-31, read in a live browser session on deputy.com/pricing with both billing toggles) Three plans, per user per month and excluding tax. On annual billing Lite is $5, Core $6.50 and Pro $9; switch the toggle to monthly and the same three read $5.50, $7.25 and $10. Add-ons are billed monthly on top. HR is $2 per user, Messaging+ $1.95 per user and Analytics+ $1.50 per user, and the last two are included in Pro. Deputy Payroll enabled by Paycor is $8 per user plus a $49 monthly base fee, available only on annual Core and Pro plans in the US. The page also states a minimum monthly spend of USD $30 / AUD $30 / GBP £20 per invoice on the monthly Lite, Core and Pro plans. Lite and Core start with a free trial; Pro is Contact us rather than self-serve. Always verify the live price.

What is the catch with Deputy?

The minimum monthly spend is the number to check before anything else: at $5.50 per user on monthly billing, a team of fewer than about six people still pays the $30 floor, so the headline per-user price is misleading at small scale. Beyond that, the plan you probably want is not the one you first price — auto-scheduling, demand forecasting and labour budgets sit in Core, and SSO, custom access levels and location hierarchies only in Pro, which has no public self-serve checkout. The add-ons stack per user as well, and the payroll add-on is US-only and annual-only.

Descript

Is Descript worth it?

Descript is genuinely best for podcasters and video creators who want to edit by editing the transcript, cutting, overdubbing and stripping filler words as easily as editing a doc. It also suits teams who want those same edits triggered from code or from an AI assistant via Descript’s API and MCP connector rather than from the app. Skip it if you need frame-precise, effects-heavy editing (a traditional NLE fits better) or your monthly volume blows past the media-hour caps.

From the Descript review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
How much does Descript cost?

(re-verified 2026-08-17) Free plan with 60 minutes a month and watermarked 720p exports. Paid, per person per month, annual against monthly: Hobbyist $16 / $24, Creator $24 / $35, Business $50 / $65, with annual billing saving up to 35%. Media hours and AI credits are capped per tier: roughly 10, 30 and 40 hours a month, and 400 to 1,500 credits. So the meter that matters is footage rather than seats — a weekly podcast can outgrow Hobbyist on hours long before it needs the features above it. Always verify the live price.

From the Descript review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
What is the catch with Descript?

It's per-editor pricing with two meters running underneath: media hours AND monthly AI credits. Heavy podcast or video volume burns through the caps fast, and the free tier watermarks 720p exports — model your real production hours before picking a tier. The API changes the arithmetic rather than escaping it. Their own API page states access is included for paying users at no additional cost, but the work it does draws from the same AI credits and media minutes — so automating a pipeline burns the caps faster, not slower. It also stops just short of the finish — the same page says direct media file exports are not supported yet, so the export step stays a manual one in the app. (read on their own API page, 2026-08-14)

Devs.ai

Is Devs.ai worth it?

Devs.ai is genuinely best for teams that want to prototype and ship AI agents and apps across multiple models without engineering overhead, and that can absorb model usage metered on top of the per-seat fee. Skip it if you need SSO, access control lists or white-labelling without going through an Enterprise contract, or you need one predictable all-in bill rather than a seat fee plus metered usage.

From the Devs.ai review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
How much does Devs.ai cost?

(re-verified 2026-08-26, read in a live browser session on devs.ai/home/pricing with both billing toggles) Devs.ai does publish its pricing — on the marketing site at devs.ai/home/pricing, not at the app's /pricing route, which bounces you to a login screen. Free is $0 forever, but Agent Builder and App Builder appear there in "Core" rather than "Full" form, data upload is capped at 2 GB, and workflows, APIs and integrations are marked absent. Personal is $15 per seat / month billed annually or $18 billed monthly; Business is $30 per seat / month annually or $36 monthly; Enterprise is a custom annual contract. The seat fee is not the whole bill: Personal includes $10 of usage per month and Business $21, with model usage metered on top of the seat. Data upload runs 2 GB, 10 GB, 20 GB and custom across the four tiers. Team governance and collaboration start at Business, while SSO (OpenID/SAML), access control lists, custom connectors and white-labelling are Enterprise-only. Separately, Devs.ai told us by email on 5 August 2026 that organisations upgrading to a paid Personal or Business plan can earn up to $100 in usage credits for completing setup steps: starting a conversation, creating an agent, connecting an integration, deploying an app. The credits are shared org-wide and do not expire. Enterprise is excluded, and orgs already on a paid plan before July 2026 are not enrolled by default. That last paragraph is the vendor's own statement to us, not something we found published on the pricing page. Always verify the live price.

From the Devs.ai review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
What is the catch with Devs.ai?

The seat price is the smaller half of the bill. Personal includes $10 of usage a month and Business $21, with model usage metered on top of the seat. The plan cards state the included amount without stating the rate you pay once it runs out — which is exactly the number you need to forecast a real workload. The free plan is a demo rather than a working tier: both builders are limited to "Core", and workflows, APIs and integrations are absent entirely, which is much of what would make the platform useful past a first agent. And for a product sold on IT governance, the governance controls are the ones you cannot buy with a card — SSO, access control lists and white-labelling sit on the Enterprise tier, behind a custom annual contract.

Dext

Is Dext worth it?

Dext is genuinely best for accountants, bookkeepers and growing businesses drowning in receipts who want fast, accurate capture flowing straight into Xero, QuickBooks or Sage. Skip it if you're a sole trader with few receipts (pricey for low volume), or you want all-in-one accounting — Dext only does the capture layer.

From the Dext review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
How much does Dext cost?

(re-verified 2026-08-21, read in a browser on dext.com/en/business/pricing because the price panel renders client-side) Dext has moved off named tiers: you choose a region and a billing period, then slide an allowance. The base of 250 documents a month and 5 users costs $25.21 per month billed annually ($302.50 a year) or $31.50 monthly in the Rest of the World, £30 monthly in the UK, €31.50 in the EU and A$42 in APAC, all excluding tax. The annual discount is stated as up to 20% everywhere except the UK page, which says up to 19%. Add-ons are billed separately: AI Assist $10.5 a month until 31 October, Commerce Lite from $7.50 and Vault free for 100MB then from $4. Line Item Extraction and Supplier Statement Extraction are from $20.50 a month or $0.50 per document, and Bank Statement Extraction from $13.00 a month or $0.32 per document. Plans include 10 sheets of bank statement extraction, 5 line-item documents and 5 supplier statement extractions as free credits, and the free trial is 14 days with no payment details required. Always verify the live price.

From the Dext review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
What is the catch with Dext?

It's a data-capture layer, not accounting software — it feeds Xero, QuickBooks or Sage, so you still need one of those. Extraction accuracy varies and sometimes needs manual fixes, the UI is tricky for beginners, the mobile app is more limited than desktop, and sole traders find it pricey.

From the Dext review — hand-researched, sources on the page.

Dify

Is Dify worth it?

Dify is genuinely best for technical teams that want to build and ship LLM apps and agents on a source-available platform they can self-host and control. Skip it if you want a no-maintenance, non-technical builder — a fully managed no-code AI tool saves you the infra and upkeep.

From the Dify review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
How much does Dify cost?

Source-available and free of a software fee to self-host — the Community Edition ships under the Dify Open Source License, a modified Apache 2.0 with additional conditions — while the managed Dify Cloud adds a free Sandbox, Professional at $59/mo ($590/yr) and Team at $159/mo ($1,590/yr), each priced per workspace (2026). Self-hosting still costs you infrastructure, model usage and any commercial licence those terms require. Cloud plans include message credits for supported model providers; once those run out you connect your own provider API key and pay that provider directly. Always verify the live price.

From the Dify review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
What is the catch with Dify?

'Free' self-hosting isn't free — you own the servers, updates and reliability, and model usage bills separately once the included message credits run out. Dify Cloud takes that infrastructure work off your hands, but every cloud plan is a single workspace, and multiple workspaces, SSO and a commercial licence sit in quote-only Enterprise. It's powerful, but self-hosting it well needs technical comfort.

Diginius

Is Diginius worth it?

Diginius is genuinely best for lean teams and agencies that want PPC, SEO and lead intelligence consolidated in one affordable dashboard instead of five subscriptions. Skip it if your growth lives in one channel where a specialist tool's depth pays for itself, or you need enterprise analytics rigor.

From the Diginius review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
How much does Diginius cost?

(re-verified 2026-08-21 on diginius.com/pricing/, business pricing) Essential $75 USD a month for 2 users, Pro $250 for 5 users, Core $500 for 10 users and marked Most Popular, Business by contact with sales. The FAQ on the same page confirms a 20% discount for annual payment. The plan limits scale with the price. SEO keywords run 25 / 500 / 1000 / custom, and SEO site pages 1000 / 5000 / 10000 / custom. Lead Intelligence leads run 10 / 25 / 50 per week, and Bombora intent leads 10 / 50 / 100 per week. Contact info credits run 25 / 50 / 100 per month, and support goes from email only to a dedicated customer success rep. The trial banner advertises 30 days including 100 intent leads a week and 100 contact credits, but the mobile plan card on the same page says 14 days. Always verify the live price.

From the Diginius review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
What is the catch with Diginius?

All-in-one marketing dashboards live or die on data depth per module. Diginius bundles PPC, SEO, lead intelligence and reporting affordably, but specialists — a dedicated SEO suite, a dedicated PPC optimizer — go deeper in their lanes. So buy it as consolidation for a lean team, not as a replacement for expert-grade tooling in your primary channel. Verify the integrations you depend on (especially Microsoft Ads, its historical strength) in the trial.

Digit

Is Digit worth it?

Digit is genuinely best for manufacturers and distributors outgrowing spreadsheets who need inventory, production, purchasing and sales in one system, and who genuinely need lot tracking and traceability rather than just wanting them. Skip it if you are a small operation where $400/month for five users is heavy against what a warehouse module in your existing accounting package would cost; also skip it if your integration list is long, because the per-connection model punishes exactly that — $100 to $125 a month for every integration past the second, depending on which part of their pricing page you read.

From the Digit review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
How much does Digit cost?

(re-read 2026-09-05 in a rendered browser on their own pricing page) Four tiers with three published: Starter $400/month including 5 users, Growth $750 including 10, Professional $1,300 including 15, and Enterprise on quote. Extra users are $63/month each on every tier. Paying quarterly takes 10% off — $360, $675 and $1,170 a month, shown with the quarter total beside it — and annually 20%, which is $320, $600 and $1,040 with the year total beside it; the page now opens on Monthly, so the first figure you see is the real monthly rate. Two integrations are included on every plan. The third and each one after it is where the page disagrees with itself: the Integrations block says $100 a month, the FAQ on the same page says $125, and the add-on cards side with the FAQ — API access $125 a month, MCP access $125, push notifications and webhooks $63, all the same price on Starter, Growth and Professional. Customer portals are $18.75 per portal per month on every tier, Enterprise included. We have asked Digit which integration price is the one they bill. Always verify the live price.

From the Digit review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
What is the catch with Digit?

The tier price is a floor, not a ceiling, and the add-ons are where an inventory system quietly doubles. Two integrations are included — but a working setup usually means an accounting package and a webshop, which is your two, and then Amazon or a second sales channel is another $125 a month by the FAQ (the integrations block on the same page still says $100; we have asked which one bills). Want the API, or your data inside an AI assistant? $125 a month each. A Starter customer on QuickBooks, Shopify and Amazon with API access is at $650 a month on the FAQ's numbers, $625 on the block's, before adding a sixth user. Price the whole configuration you actually need, not the tier.

Disputifier

Is Disputifier worth it?

Disputifier is genuinely best for Shopify stores with a chargeback problem big enough to cost real money and nobody in-house to fight disputes, who would rather pay a share of what is recovered than a monthly fee. Skip it if your dispute volume is low or lumpy, you need a predictable monthly bill, or your margins are high enough that auto-refunding an alerted order costs more than losing the occasional dispute.

From the Disputifier review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
How much does Disputifier cost?

(read 2026-08-19 on apps.shopify.com/disputifier and on disputifier.com/pricing) Free to install, with everything billed on use. The listing shows a single plan — Basic, free to install, with a 7-day risk-free trial — and names two charges: chargeback fighting at 20% of won-back revenue, and chargeback alerts from $17 to $27.50 per alert. All charges are billed in USD. The vendor's own pricing page fills in the rest. Recovery is 20% of the recovered amount with the fee capped at $250 per win — win a $50 chargeback and they debit $10 — while fraud prevention is $0.05 per order and 'order not received' prevention another $0.05 per order. Alerts are sold there as custom volume-based pricing by quote, so the $17-$27.50 band on the listing is the only public number for them. There is no monthly subscription anywhere in this: the bill is a function of how many disputes and orders you have, so it cannot be read off the pricing page in advance. Developer Disputifier, 294 Trillium Way, Clayton, North Carolina; the app launched 23 September 2020 and carries a 4.5 average over 84 App Store reviews. Always verify the live price.

From the Disputifier review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
What is the catch with Disputifier?

Free to install is doing a lot of work here. All four services bill per event — a fifth of each recovery, $17 to $27.50 an alert, five cents an order twice over — so the cost lands after the fact and scales with exactly the thing you are trying to reduce. Model your worst chargeback month before you switch alerts on, not your average one. The reviews deserve a straight look too. The 4.6 average across 88 reviews, read again on 22 August 2026, is not a middle: 89% are five stars and nine of the eighty-eight are a single star, with almost nothing in between. The most recent one-star, from June 2026, describes a security incident at the vendor and a dispute over unpaid invoices and billing descriptors; Disputifier replied in July that it does not block merchants from moving providers and disputes the account of the charges. We have not verified either side and are not taking one. What the pattern does show is where the friction sits: merchants either rate this perfect or fall out with it over invoices, not over whether disputes were won. And know what alerts cannot reach. Coverage depends on the shopper's bank and card: smaller issuers do not participate, Amex and Discover frequently cannot be set up, Klarna alerts do not exist yet and PayPal alerts are recent. The prevention rate the vendor quotes is a ceiling for a well-covered card mix, not a promise for yours.

Dondy

Is Dondy worth it?

Dondy is genuinely best for Shopify stores whose customers already live in WhatsApp — much of Europe, Latin America, the Middle East and Asia — that want cart recovery, order updates and campaigns on the official API without leaving the Shopify admin. Skip it if your customers are on email and SMS, or you need one predictable monthly figure: Meta's per-conversation charges sit on top of every paid tier here.

From the Dondy review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
How much does Dondy cost?

(read 2026-08-22 on apps.shopify.com/dondy-marketing-ai, listed as “Dondy: WhatsApp Marketing+Chat”) Four tiers, each paid one with a 7-day free trial. Free: a WhatsApp chat button with unlimited conversations, custom size and location, and prefilled messages. Pro $6.99 a month or $67.10 a year, a 20% saving: premium button designs, a WhatsApp widget, text customisation, product URLs in messages, custom hours, reports, and abandoned-cart and order-confirmation messages you send manually. Power Automation is $79.99 a month or $719.88 a year, a 25% saving. It carries automated abandoned-cart recovery, WhatsApp marketing campaigns, customisable automated messages, bulk messaging to Shopify segments, an inbox with Shopify integration and the official WhatsApp Business API. It includes 1,000 one-click messages every 30 days, and quotes WhatsApp rates starting at $0.0158 in the US on top. Elite $159.99 a month or $1,439.88 a year adds an AI chatbot for sales and support, AI corrections and training, AI product recommendations, a five-agent WhatsApp inbox, green-tick verification assistance, a VIP account manager and unlimited WhatsApp flows. It carries the same 1,000 included messages and rates starting at $0.0126. All charges are billed in USD and recur every 30 days, and Meta's per-conversation charges are separate from all of it. Developer Dondy, Givatayim, Israel; the app launched 15 March 2023, is available in five languages, and had 774 reviews at the time of writing, 3% of them one-star. Always verify the live price.

From the Dondy review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
What is the catch with Dondy?

The free plan is a chat button. It is a decent chat button, and conversations through it are unlimited. But none of the marketing this app is named for is in it. Automated cart recovery, campaigns and the official API begin at $79.99 a month, and the $6.99 tier in between only lets you send those same messages by hand. You will also get two bills. Dondy charges the subscription; Meta charges per conversation on the WhatsApp Business API. Dondy can only tell you the rate starts at $0.0158 or $0.0126, because the real figure depends on the country you are messaging and the type of conversation. A thousand one-click messages a month are included on the two top tiers; past that, your monthly total is not knowable from this listing, and a campaign to a large segment is exactly the kind of thing that produces a surprise. Model it against your own list size and destination countries before you send one. The rest is Meta's rulebook, not Dondy's. Opt-in, message templates and sender quality are governed on WhatsApp's side, so approval and reach are not things this app can promise you whatever you pay it. The review record is strong — 774 reviews, 91% at the top rating — and it still contains 21 one-star reports, which is the ordinary shape of a channel where a misfired broadcast is not an unsubscribe but a block.

doola

Is doola worth it?

doola is genuinely best for founders (often non-US) who want US LLC/C-Corp formation, EIN and compliance handled in one place without the paperwork. Skip it if you're a US resident comfortable filing formation yourself — the state fee plus a cheap registered agent costs far less than the bundle.

From the doola review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
How much does doola cost?

(re-verified 1 September 2026 on doola.com/pricing) The August sale has ended, so these are the list prices again. Starter is $297 a year plus state fees and covers LLC or C-Corp formation, EIN, a registered agent and a US address; state filing fees run $50 to $500 depending on the state, and they are yours, not doola's. Pulse bookkeeping comes with a 30-day trial and renews at $300 a year. Tax and Compliance, the tier the page marks Most Popular, is $1,999 a year plus state fees. Business-in-a-Box is $2,999 a year, or $329 a month, plus state fees. doola's own FAQ states that all plans are billed annually. Worth knowing for timing: through 31 August the page ran an automatic discount of up to $750 that could not be combined with anything else, which showed $222, $1,499 and $2,249 for those three tiers. That window closed on 31 August, which is precisely why our reader code applies again from 1 September. Always verify the live price.

From the doola review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
What is the catch with doola?

Formation is the cheap part; the recurring bookkeeping and tax tiers are where the real cost sits, and state fees are extra on top of doola's price. Convenient especially for non-US founders, but a local accountant may be cheaper once you're established.

From the doola review — hand-researched, sources on the page.

Drip

Is Drip worth it?

Drip is genuinely best for an online store on Shopify, WooCommerce or BigCommerce that already has order data worth segmenting and wants ecommerce playbooks — abandoned cart, welcome series, post-purchase — without assembling them by hand. The pricing model suits a list that grows steadily and mails at a normal cadence, because you pay for people rather than per seat or per feature, and every plan carries the whole feature set. Skip it if you are not selling online: Drip says an ecommerce store is not required but that the platform is built for one, and you would be paying for the half you cannot use. Skip it too if your list is large and you mail often, because the send allowance caps at twelve per contact per month once you are past the small tiers. The same goes past 175,000 people, where the published ladder ends and pricing becomes a conversation.

From the Drip review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
How much does Drip cost?

(2026-08-12, read off their own pricing calculator; every rung on the slider re-verified 2026-08-22 and unchanged) One ladder, no tiers: you drag a slider to your list size and Drip prints a monthly price. 2,500 people is $39, then $49 at 3,000, $59 at 3,500, $69 at 4,000, $79 at 4,500, $89 at 5,000, $99 at 6,000, $109 at 7,000, $169 at 12,500, $369 at 25,000, $699 at 50,000, $1,299 at 110,000 and $1,949 at 175,000. Above roughly 175,000 the number disappears and the page says “Let’s chat”, so the top of the range is quote-only. The trial is 14 days and takes no card, but Drip states unlimited sends are switched off during it. Two things the ladder does not advertise. Chat support is not included at the entry price: up to 5,000 people the line reads “Email support”, and “Chat and email support” only appears from $99 (6,000 people) — their FAQ says the same in words. And “Unlimited email sends” stops being literally true as you climb. It still says unlimited at 30,000 people, but at 30,001 the same line reads “390,000 email sends”, at 50,000 “600,000”, at 110,000 “1,320,000” and at 175,000 “2,100,000” — in every case exactly twelve sends per contact per month. Every plan carries the same feature set otherwise, including up to 50 workflows and unlimited sub-accounts, so what you buy going up the ladder is list capacity, not capability. Always verify the live price.

From the Drip review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
What is the catch with Drip?

The word “unlimited” quietly expires. At the prices most small shops pay, the send allowance really is uncapped. But the switch has an exact address: unlimited holds to 30,000 people, and from 30,001 the bullet becomes a hard number — 390,000 sends there, 600,000 at 50,000 people, twelve per contact per month. Drip never flags the switch. If you run a daily-deal or high-frequency list, do the arithmetic before you migrate: twelve sends per contact is generous for a monthly newsletter and tight for anything that mails several times a week. The second thing to price in is support. The page sells one product at every level, but you cannot talk to anyone in chat until $99/month; below that it is email only, which is a real difference on the day a broken automation is sending to the wrong segment.

Dripify

Is Dripify worth it?

Dripify is genuinely best for sales teams that already run LinkedIn outreach, understand that automation breaches LinkedIn's terms, and accept that risk with their eyes open — the cloud architecture means sequences run with your browser closed and no extension injected into your session. Skip it if anyone whose LinkedIn account is not expendable, since a restriction can be permanent and no tool can promise otherwise; or anyone tempted by the 75-a-day ceiling, because the vendor's own advice is roughly a fifth of that.

From the Dripify review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
How much does Dripify cost?

(re-verified 2026-08-26 on their own pricing page — note that dripify.io now redirects to dripify.com) Four tiers, priced per user: Basic $39, Pro $59 and Advanced $79 per user per month billed annually, plus an Enterprise tier that is quote-only. Month to month the same tiers read $59, $79 and $99 per user; both columns sit in the page and the FAQ repeats all six numbers in words. A 7-day free trial runs without a credit card. So the 'up to 35% off' the toggle advertises is real but front-loaded: you pay a year up front to get it, and the discount shrinks as you go up the range — about 34 percent on Basic, 25 on Pro, 20 on Advanced. What each tier buys is unusually consequential here, and the page now prints the daily quotas instead of calling them 'limited': Basic sends 20 connection requests, 30 messages, 10 Sales Navigator InMails and 100 profile views a day, against 75, 100+, 30 and 200+ on Pro and Advanced. Basic is also capped at one drip campaign; unlimited campaigns and full quotas start at Pro, which adds a dedicated inbox, CSV export and the webhook and HubSpot integrations, and Advanced adds multi-team management, advanced LinkedIn protection, lead tagging, step analytics and evergreen leads. Every tier includes 100 email-finder credits a month and the top-ups are priced openly: 1,000 credits $29, 2,000 $49, 5,000 $69, 10,000 $99. One seat connects one LinkedIn account, so five reps means five seats, and ten or more seats goes through sales. Always verify the live price.

From the Dripify review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
What is the catch with Dripify?

Understand what you are buying before the price matters: LinkedIn prohibits this entire product category. Its User Agreement bans using 'bots or other unauthorized automated methods' to 'send or redirect messages', and its prohibited-software page says members using such tools 'risk having their accounts restricted or shut down'. There is no carve-out for cloud tools or low volumes, and Dripify is not an outlier here — every competitor sits on the same side of that line. Dripify's own documentation is candid about the consequence, warning that LinkedIn 'may issue warnings, temporary restrictions, or even permanent bans', and it publishes a recovery procedure for exactly that scenario. Two things follow. First, the advertised ceiling is not a working speed: the app allows up to 75 connection requests a day, while Dripify's own setup guide tells beginners to run 10 to 15, and brand-new accounts 2 to 5, building up 10 to 20 percent a week. Anyone buying on the headline number is buying capacity they are told not to use. Second, Activity Control sits on the $79 Advanced tier. It is the feature Dripify names as its best protection, and it adjusts your pace automatically. On Basic and Pro, safe pacing is your own manual responsibility. And when a vendor writes that a feature 'makes sure your LinkedIn account won't get flagged', read that as a claim about a third party's enforcement decisions that no vendor can actually guarantee.

Dripshipper

Is Dripshipper worth it?

Dripshipper is genuinely best for someone who wants a turnkey private-label coffee or tea brand on Shopify — their roasting and packaging, your label on the bag — and is content to stay inside one product category. You are buying people, not capability: nothing above Starter makes the coffee ship faster or cost less per bag. The annual rate is the move worth noticing in the other direction, since $240 a year against $30 a month is a third off the same tier. Beyond that the model is narrow by design — one product category, roasted and shipped from their own US facilities in 3-5 business days, with no route to source elsewhere or negotiate the per-order cost.

DropGenius

Is DropGenius worth it?

DropGenius is genuinely best for absolute beginners who want a pre-built Shopify dropshipping store scaffold in minutes and understand it's a starting point, not a business. Skip it if anyone uncomfortable with the documented billing complaints — or expecting an AI-generated store to sell by itself.

From the DropGenius review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
How much does DropGenius cost?

Re-verified 6 September 2026 on their own pricing page, unchanged since August. Monthly: Starter $39, Pro $59, Empire $99, Unicorn $299, each with a 14-day free trial. Switch to annual billing and Starter disappears from the table; the rest become Pro $24/mo (billed annually at $288), Empire $57/mo ($684) and Unicorn $79/mo ($948). The meter is catalogue size: Starter 25 unique products, Pro 250 unique plus 25 premium, Empire 10,000 and 10,000, Unicorn 25,000 and 25,000. Their own FAQ still quotes an older $39.99-$299.99 range plus a $1.99 one-time store-creation fee, so the marketing copy and the pricing table disagree. Always verify the live price.

From the DropGenius review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
What is the catch with DropGenius?

We have to be blunt here: DropGenius carries a very poor Trustpilot rating (around 1.6/5 at research time), with recurring complaints about charges continuing after cancellation and refund difficulty. An AI-generated store in 30 seconds is also just a starting template — the product selection, marketing and margins remain entirely your problem. If you proceed: pay attention to cancellation mechanics from day one, screenshot everything, and treat the Renewal Radar as mandatory equipment.

Dryground AI

Is Dryground AI worth it?

Dryground AI is genuinely best for businesses that want AI solutions built for them as a services engagement rather than assembling tools themselves. Skip it if you're looking for self-serve software with published pricing — this is custom, quote-based consulting.

From the Dryground AI review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
How much does Dryground AI cost?

(2026-08-17, read in a browser because the site renders client-side and a plain fetch returns only the title) There is no public pricing anywhere, and we checked before saying so. /pricing, /plans, /services, /about and /contact all return 404. The words “pricing”, “price” and “$” appear zero times on the homepage, and the navigation carries no pricing entry at all — it runs Solutions, Products, Verticals, Case Studies, Research, Book a Consultation. Tiers do exist with no numbers attached: the AI Velocity line is described as “six tiers from pilot to full enterprise transformation” on 90-day outcome cycles. Budget this as a consulting engagement scoped per project, not a subscription you can read off a page. Always verify the live price.

From the Dryground AI review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
What is the catch with Dryground AI?

This is consulting, not a tool you log into: best when you want AI designed and built for you, not when you'd rather DIY with software. Read the headline numbers carefully too. The 20-50% efficiency and 10-20% revenue figures on their homepage carry the caption “2025 industry benchmarks”, so they describe the market rather than this firm's own results. And the case studies underneath them name no clients.

Easy Advanced Translations

Is Easy Advanced Translations worth it?

Easy Advanced Translations is genuinely best for small-to-mid Shopify stores that want affordable, full-store AI translation — including images and third-party-app text — and are comfortable bringing their own OpenAI or DeepSeek key for unlimited volume. Skip it if large catalogues that want predictable all-in pricing without managing API keys or quotas, merchants who require a proven app with a large review base, or enterprises needing SLA and support guarantees.

From the Easy Advanced Translations review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
How much does Easy Advanced Translations cost?

(verified 2026-08-28 on apps.shopify.com/advanced-translation) Four tiers, all monthly. Free installs at no cost and gives you unlimited AI if you bring your own OpenAI or DeepSeek key, or free built-in AI for a small quota (50 products, 50 metafields, 100 variants, 5 articles). Starter is $4.99, Basic $14.99 and Pro $29.99, each raising the free-AI quota (100, 400 and 800 products respectively) — or, again, unlimited if you supply your own key. The model's real pivot is that key: bring your own and you pay the AI provider's token costs directly for unlimited volume; rely on the built-in free AI and you are capped per tier. Always verify the live price.

From the Easy Advanced Translations review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
What is the catch with Easy Advanced Translations?

The 'free AI' is heavily quota-limited — 50 products on Free, up to 800 on Pro — so a genuinely multilingual catalogue pushes you either to a paid tier or to your own OpenAI/DeepSeek key, where you pay token costs separately on top of the subscription. Auto-translation of new or changed content is reserved for the higher plans. And the track record is thin: 5.0 stars but only nine reviews, the app launched in July 2025, and it carries no 'Built for Shopify' badge — cheap and promising, but unproven.

Easy Bundles

Is Easy Bundles worth it?

Easy Bundles is genuinely best for Shopify merchants who want build-your-own-box, gift-box, mix-and-match, fixed-price or volume bundles live in days rather than sprints, with bundle inventory syncing across Shopify and 3PLs and bundles that also sell through POS — and whose bundle revenue is still small enough to sit comfortably inside a published tier. Skip it if your bundle sales already run past $10,000 a month, because that is where the published ladder ends and the overage is not disclosed; or you need one straightforward fixed or mix-and-match bundle, which Shopify's own free first-party Bundles app already covers.

From the Easy Bundles review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
How much does Easy Bundles cost?

(read 2026-09-04 on apps.shopify.com/bundle-builder) Four tiers billed in USD every 30 days, and the meter is the part that matters: you are charged on bundle sales, not on orders, products or staff. The free plan is free to install and covers up to $500 of bundle sales a month. Essential is $29 a month or $299 a year and lifts that to $3,000; Growth is $49 or $499 a year up to $5,000; Scale is $99 or $999 a year up to $10,000. Annual billing saves 14% to 16% depending on the tier, and every paid tier has a 15-day free trial. Features climb the same ladder: free gives mix-and-match, fixed and volume bundles with templates and a custom or template design; Essential adds the single-step and multi-step bundle builders, landing-page templates, search and filtering, and multi-currency and multi-language support; Growth adds advanced discount logic, custom personalisation fields, add-ons, free gifts and subscription bundles; Scale adds AI-generated designs, advanced analytics, one-to-one onboarding and an account manager on Slack. Two things the block does not say are worth noting before you commit. It does not publish what happens when you pass $10,000 of bundle sales in a month, and it does not publish an overage rate; the plan table simply ends there and links out to see all pricing options. Always verify the live price.

From the Easy Bundles review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
What is the catch with Easy Bundles?

The pricing is tied to the thing the app is supposed to grow. A revenue meter reads as generous at the bottom — $500 of bundle sales a month free is a real trial, not a crippled one — but it means every tier upgrade is triggered by the app working, and the published ladder stops at $10,000 a month with no stated overage. A store doing well on bundles has to ask what comes next rather than read it, and that is the wrong moment to be negotiating. Maturity is not the concern here: the app has been on the App Store since 15 September 2022 and carries 4.9 stars over 1,216 reviews as of 4 September 2026. The concern is where the money goes as you succeed. Two smaller things: the features most merchants picture when they think bundles — guided build-your-own-box, subscription bundles, add-ons and free gifts — sit on Growth at $49, not on the free plan, and the recent reviews that praise the app most warmly also praise the support team by name, which is a compliment to people rather than to a product that never needs them.

From the Easy Bundles review — hand-researched, sources on the page.

EasyDMARC

Is EasyDMARC worth it?

EasyDMARC is genuinely best for anyone who sends email from their own domain and has not yet got DMARC to enforcement — the reporting is the part that makes that safe rather than guesswork. Skip it if you have one domain, send little email, and are willing to read raw XML reports yourself, because the free tier plus patience covers the same ground.

From the EasyDMARC review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
How much does EasyDMARC cost?

(read 2026-08-26 on easydmarc.com/pricing over a US connection, on the Organizations tab with annual billing on) Plus is $US 44.99 a month, or $US 35.99 billed annually, for 2 domains, three months of report history and one invited user. Premium is $US 89.99, or $US 71.99 annually, for 4 domains, a year of history, TLS reports and a dedicated CS manager on the yearly plan. Enterprise is quoted and carries three years of history, unlimited users and managed services. Annual billing is marked as 20% off plus bonus features, and MSPs and MSSPs get a separate tab with their own ladder. The number that actually sets your tier is monthly email volume: each card has its own selector, running 100,000 to 1,000,000 messages on Plus and up to 5,000,000 on Premium, so the headline is the floor for the smallest bracket. We first read these as euro amounts from the Netherlands on 1 Aug; the figures do not convert — €44.99 there is $44.99 here. Always verify the live price.

From the EasyDMARC review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
What is the catch with EasyDMARC?

You are buying domains and history, not features. Plus covers two domains; a company with a main domain, a marketing subdomain and a legacy domain it forgot about is already over. And the history window is the part that bites later: three months on Plus means that when you are investigating a spoofing campaign that started in the spring, the reports are gone. The page also does not say what happens when you pass the message volume. Their own FAQ does: you lose access to your reports and dashboard rather than being billed for overage. That is a harsher failure mode than an overage charge, and worth knowing before you size the plan.

From the EasyDMARC review — hand-researched, sources on the page.

EcomXray

Is EcomXray worth it?

EcomXray is genuinely best for small and mid-size Shopify merchants who want cost price, gross margin, clean net unit sales and restock advice inside the admin instead of exporting to a spreadsheet. Skip it if you sell across several channels and need cross-platform inventory sync, you already run a dedicated inventory or MRP system, or you want an app with a public track record longer than a month.

From the EcomXray review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
How much does EcomXray cost?

(re-verified 8 September 2026 on apps.shopify.com/ecomxray; unchanged since 21 August 2026) Two tiers. Free: product analytics inside Shopify, cost price and gross margin, net units sold over 30, 90 and 365 days with refunds, cancellations and test orders excluded, 30-day restock recommendations and a revenue rank for top products. Pro is $29 a month, with a 14-day free trial. It carries everything in Free plus editing product name, description and price in place, SEO fields with automatic URL redirects, publishing to channels and managing collections. There is also a full product activity log, and a Chrome extension showing stock value and editing on your storefront product pages. There is no annual rate on the listing. All charges are billed in USD and recur every 30 days. Developer aMemory ApS, Ellegardvej 36, Sonderborg, Denmark; the app launched 20 July 2026 and, seven weeks on, still carries a 0.0 rating from zero reviews. The listing's own summary bullets put in-place editing and the audit log among the app's five headline features without marking them Pro, which is the one place the listing reads as more generous than the plan table it sits above. Always verify the live price.

From the EcomXray review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
What is the catch with EcomXray?

The split between the two tiers is unusually clean, and worth seeing clearly: everything this app is described as doing, the margins, the net units, the restock advice, is free. The $29 buys editing, not insight. If you are happy making changes in the Shopify admin you already have, the free plan is the whole product and the paid one is a convenience layer over it. The track record is the real caveat, and it has not moved. The app launched on 20 July 2026 and still had no reviews at all when we checked on 8 September, seven weeks later. Nothing is known about how it behaves at scale, how it handles a catalogue in the tens of thousands, or how quickly support answers, because nobody has said so in public. And its numbers are only as good as your cost prices. Gross margin comes out of Shopify's own cost-per-item field, so if that field is empty or stale across your catalogue, the margin column is decoration. Fill the cost prices in first, then judge the app.

eDesk

Is eDesk worth it?

eDesk is genuinely best for e-commerce and marketplace sellers who want one unified inbox across Amazon, eBay, Shopify and email — with order data and AI-assisted replies where support and revenue overlap. Skip it if you run a non-commerce SaaS or service business (general helpdesks fit better and cheaper), or your ticket volume is low enough that a shared inbox already copes.

From the eDesk review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
How much does eDesk cost?

(re-verified 2026-08-17) Free plan to start; Essential $39 per agent/mo, Growth $89 (recommended), Professional $119, Enterprise custom — all billed annually, with monthly billing 20% higher ($49 against $39 on Essential). The AI Agent is included on every paid tier, but its automated resolutions bill separately at $0.99 per outcome: you pay when it actually resolves a query, not per attempt. eDesk claims the agent can automate up to 65% of support across channels, so model the outcome fee against your ticket volume — at 1,000 resolved tickets a month that is $990 on top of the seats. Always verify the live price.

From the eDesk review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
What is the catch with eDesk?

There are two meters, and the second one is easy to miss. The per-agent price is the entry ticket, but the AI Agent charges $0.99 for every automated resolution on top. That is great when it deflects real tickets, but it is a variable line item that scales with your support volume — model it against your ticket count before assuming a flat bill. And the honest fundamental for any e-commerce helpdesk: the value is only as good as your marketplace integrations actually syncing — test Amazon/eBay/Shopify connections with your real accounts during the free trial.

From the eDesk review — hand-researched, sources on the page.

ElevateForward

Is ElevateForward worth it?

ElevateForward is genuinely best for scaling companies where growth is outpacing alignment — leadership lacks execution visibility and strategic initiatives keep stalling halfway. Skip it if you already have solid execution discipline, or you just want a simple task or project tool — this is a strategy-and-alignment layer, not a to-do list.

From the ElevateForward review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
How much does ElevateForward cost?

(re-verified 2026-08-21, read on their own pricing page) The prices are published, despite the consultative first impression, and the report figures have not moved since our 12 August reading. An Elevate Insight Report is $500, a bundle of three is $1,350 at a 10% discount, and the Elevate Studio tiers render at $250, $500 and $750 a month. Those three are Elevate Strategy, Elevate Execution and Business Enablement, the last still marked coming soon. A report is scoped to one focus area you choose, delivered within five business days of submission, with up to two rounds of feedback-based adjustments and a review consultation included. Treat the monthly figures as provisional: each price sits in a pair of spans whose second value reads $1,500 per report. For the three monthly tiers those second values are $8, $16 and $149. The page carries no visible label for either state, so which figure a given buyer is shown cannot be settled from the markup. Always verify the live price.

From the ElevateForward review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
What is the catch with ElevateForward?

It's a strategy-to-execution layer, not a task app or a dashboard — so the value only lands if leadership actually adopts the framework. 'Operational alignment platform' is also a fuzzy, crowded label, so press them on the concrete deliverables (the diagnostics, KPI blueprints and execution plans) before committing.

From the ElevateForward review — hand-researched, sources on the page.

ElevenLabs

Is ElevenLabs worth it?

ElevenLabs is genuinely best for creators, developers and product teams that want the most realistic AI voices available — voiceovers, audiobooks, dubbing, conversational agents and a well-documented API. Skip it if you generate hours of long-form audio on a tight budget (credit math punishes volume — flat-hour tools or the TTS built into your video editor may be enough), or you need acted emotional range only a human voice actor delivers.

From the ElevenLabs review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
How much does ElevenLabs cost?

(re-verified 3 Sep 2026 on elevenlabs.io/pricing) Every rate held for a second month. Free $0 with 10k credits/mo; Starter $6/mo (30k credits, commercial license); Creator $22/mo — first month 50% off at $11 — with ~121k credits. Then Pro $99/mo (~600k credits, 44.1kHz PCM), Scale $299/mo (~1.8M credits, 3 workspace seats) and Business $990/mo (~6M credits, 10 seats). Extra usage runs roughly $0.36 down to $0.17 per additional minute depending on tier. Two things the plan cards do not put next to the price. Annual billing is sold as ten months rather than twelve — the FAQ writes it out as annual price = monthly price × 10, which works out to $5 for Starter, $18.33 for Creator, $82.50 for Pro, $249.17 for Scale and $825 for Business. And credits are shared across every product, so speech, music, dubbing and video all draw down the same monthly balance. On a paid plan unused credits roll over for up to two months — the balance caps at three times the monthly quota — but downgrading or cancelling forfeits whatever is left at the end of the cycle, and the free plan has no rollover at all. Always verify the live price.

From the ElevenLabs review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
What is the catch with ElevenLabs?

Credits are the meter and retakes are the tax — you are charged per generation request, and a regeneration is only free while the content and settings are unchanged, so real usage lands well above the calculator estimate. And read the free-tier fine print: $0 gets you 10k credits to play with, but no commercial license — anything you publish commercially needs at least the $6 Starter. Voice realism genuinely leads the market; niche names and jargon can still need manual retakes, so run your hardest paragraph through the free tier before subscribing.

From the ElevenLabs review — hand-researched, sources on the page.

EmailListVerify

Is EmailListVerify worth it?

EmailListVerify is genuinely best for teams cleaning real sending lists before campaigns — bulk verification at volume rates, with credits that never expire. Skip it if you verify tiny batches occasionally (the entry rate is the worst per-check price), or you mainly want prospecting — the finder burns credits five at a time.

From the EmailListVerify review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
How much does EmailListVerify cost?

(re-verified 2026-08-31 on emaillistverify.com/pricing, read from the page's own JSON-LD offer data) Pay-as-you-go credits that never expire: 1,000 for $5 ($0.005/check), 5,000 for $17 ($0.0034), 10,000 for $27 ($0.0027), 25,000 for $54 ($0.00216), 50,000 for $98 ($0.00196), 100,000 for $186 ($0.00186). Monthly subscription at the same volumes: 5,000 for $16 ($0.0032), 10,000 for $25 ($0.0025), 25,000 for $49 ($0.00196), 50,000 for $89 ($0.00178), 100,000 for $168 ($0.00168), 250,000 for $346. The subscription discount runs from 5.9% at 5,000 credits to 9.7% at 100,000, so it grows with volume rather than being a flat rate. API included at every level; the email finder costs 5 credits per address found at medium-or-higher confidence. Free tools: email validator, inbox-placement test, DMARC/SPF generators. Note that /llms.txt and /pricing.md both serve the 404 page under an HTTP 200, so the JSON-LD on the pricing page is the machine-readable source here. Always verify the live price.

From the EmailListVerify review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
What is the catch with EmailListVerify?

The $5 entry pack is the most expensive way to buy: $0.005 per check versus $0.00196 at the 50k tier — a 2.5x spread that rewards guessing your volume upfront. And the email finder quietly consumes 5 credits per found address, so a 1,000-credit pack finds 200 emails, not 1,000.

From the EmailListVerify review — hand-researched, sources on the page.

Emergent

Is Emergent worth it?

Emergent is genuinely best for founders, PMs and builders who want to turn a prompt into a working full-stack web app or MVP fast, without writing the code themselves. Skip it if you need a hardened, security-audited production system with no human review, or your usage would burn through credits faster than the value returns.

From the Emergent review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
How much does Emergent cost?

(re-verified 2026-08-31 on emergent.sh/pricing) Free $0 (10 credits/mo); Standard $20/mo, or $17/mo billed annually, for 100 credits (the page states a $36 annual saving, 15%); Pro $200/mo, or $167/mo billed annually, for 750 credits (a $396 saving, 16.5%). Above Pro the ladder is quote-only: Business and Enterprise both show 'Custom' and route to Book a demo, adding RBAC, SSO, shared workspaces and co-editing (Business) and user-level credit limits, audit logs, self-hosted database support, VPC deployment and priority SLAs (Enterprise). The $300/mo Team tier with 1,250 shared credits is no longer offered. Credits meter the work -- simple changes 1-2, medium features 5-10, complex refactors 10-20+ -- which comes from earlier research and was not re-confirmed on the 31 Aug read of the pricing page. Always verify the live price.

From the Emergent review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
What is the catch with Emergent?

The real cost is credit consumption, not the flat sticker -- a genuinely complex app burns 10-20+ credits per big change, so serious builders move up tiers faster than the price list implies. Now do the division, because Emergent's own pricing page doesn't. Standard is $20 for 100 credits, so 20 cents a credit. Pro is $200 for 750, which is 26.7 cents. Moving up a tier makes every unit of work more expensive, not less: Pro costs 33% more per credit than Standard, and annual billing keeps the gap (17 cents against 22.3). That is the opposite of the volume discount the ladder looks like -- you are buying a 1M-token context window, custom agents and priority support, not cheaper work. And there is nowhere cheap to go above it: Business and Enterprise are both quote-only, so passing 750 credits a month means a sales call rather than a bigger plan. Check what your month actually needs before you upgrade; one Standard month plus purchased extra credits may beat one Pro month. AI-generated code still needs a human eye: review it for security, correctness and maintainability before anything touches real users.

From the Emergent review — hand-researched, sources on the page.

Employment Hero

Is Employment Hero worth it?

Employment Hero is genuinely best for Australian and New Zealand employers who want HR and payroll from one vendor and will genuinely use both, where the per-employee rate beats separate systems. Skip it if you are budgeting in US dollars — the page is Australian, in AUD excluding GST, with no US equivalent — or you only need one of the modules, since each is sold separately and priced as though you are buying the platform.

From the Employment Hero review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
How much does Employment Hero cost?

(2026-08-28, read on their own pricing page at employmenthero.com/pricing/) EVERY PRICE ON THAT PAGE IS AUD EXCLUDING GST — the page states it in its own disclaimer. It is the Australian page; separate pages exist for the UK, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia and Canada, and there is no US one. Sold as separate modules rather than one plan. Recruitment: a free ATS tier at A$0 that includes 50 complimentary AI video interviews as a one-off trial, then A$199, A$359, A$639 and A$959 a month for 50, 100, 200 and 300 interviews. Those are annual-billing rates — the disclaimer gives A$2,388 a year for the 50-interview plan at a 20% discount, against A$249 a month on monthly billing. Interview credits reset monthly, unused credits do not roll over, and overage is billed automatically with no hard cap. No HR or payroll subscription is required for Recruitment. HR Essentials A$10 per employee per month, HR Engage A$14; HR Elite and Employment Unlimited are quote-only. There is no standalone payroll tier on the page any more: payroll sits inside Employment Unlimited, and Managed Payroll is an add-on at A$20 per employee per month with a A$400 monthly minimum. Other add-ons, each per employee per month with a stated monthly minimum: Chat A$2 (min A$20), Rostering and Time and Attendance A$4 (A$40), HR Advisory A$14 (A$280), Learning 10-course bundle A$8 (A$80), LMS Plus A$17 (A$170), EAP Standard A$8 (A$80), EAP Premium A$10 (A$100). A minimum of 10 Users applies, billed on the higher of the users named in your agreement or the active users. Every price on the page carries an asterisk. CHANGED SINCE 1 AUG 2026: the standalone Payroll module at $10 per employee recorded then is no longer on the page, and the currency was not recorded as AUD. Always verify the live price.

From the Employment Hero review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
What is the catch with Employment Hero?

There is no such thing as the Employment Hero price, and the first thing to fix is the currency: the pricing page is the Australian one, its disclaimer says every figure is AUD excluding GST, and there is no US page. Then the structure. HR, recruitment, chat and payroll are separate subscriptions, most of them per employee, with a stated minimum of ten users underneath — so a six-person company is billed for ten. Payroll no longer carries its own price at all: it is inside the quote-only Employment Unlimited tier, or an A$20-a-head add-on with a A$400 floor. And the recruitment tiers meter AI video interviews rather than people, with credits that reset monthly, do not roll over, and overage billed automatically with no hard cap.

EngageBay

Is EngageBay worth it?

EngageBay is genuinely best for small teams that want CRM, email marketing, helpdesk and live chat in one affordable suite — the free tier is a genuine trial-for-life, and it undercuts HubSpot hard at small scale. Skip it if your contact list is big (per-tier caps push you up fast) or you need best-of-breed depth in one area — all-in-one means good-at-everything, not best-at-anything.

From the EngageBay review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
How much does EngageBay cost?

(re-verified 26 Aug 2026) Genuinely free tier: $0 for 250 contacts with email marketing, CRM, helpdesk and live chat, and the plan card adds that it is free for teams of up to 15 members. All-in-One suite per user/month on monthly billing: Basic $14.99 (500 contacts), Growth $64.99 (5,000 contacts, marketing automation), Pro $119.99 (50,000 contacts). Those three rates are unchanged since our July reading, but the Pro contact allowance is not what we recorded then: it is a 50,000-contact cap, not unlimited. Read the toggle before you read the number. The page defaults to a biennial ‘15% off’ display (Basic $12.74, Growth $55.24, Pro $101.99) with a yearly ‘8% off’ step in between ($13.79, $59.79, $110.39), so the friendly figure in the headline assumes you prepay two years. Single bays (Marketing or CRM & Sales) start at $11.04/user/mo on that same biennial display. Always verify the live price.

From the EngageBay review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
What is the catch with EngageBay?

The meter is contacts AND seats at once: prices are per user, and each tier caps contacts — Basic’s 500 contacts fills fast, and the Growth jump is steep ($15 → $65 per user). The advertised ‘starts at $12.74’ assumes biennial prepay — two years upfront for the friendly number. Real automation only starts at Growth.

Envoy

Is Envoy worth it?

Envoy is genuinely best for companies with a real office and a front desk problem — visitor compliance, desk booking and deliveries in one system, where the per-location price is spread over enough employees to be worth it. Skip it if you are remote-first or have one small office — a visitor log and a shared calendar cover the same ground, and the per-location floor is priced for buildings rather than teams.

How much does Envoy cost?

(2026-08-29, read on their own pricing page and their platform page) Five products, each metered differently and all billed annually. Visitors: Basic free, Premium $362 per location per month, Enterprise quote-only. Emergency Notifications $2 per user per month. Reservations $5 per bookable resource per month. Screens $12 per device per month. Deliveries $250 per delivery location per month. All five amounts are unchanged since 1 August 2026, and the pricing page now publishes the Visitors Premium rate in JSON-LD with a billingDuration of one year. The line 'Price excludes platform fee' appears exactly four times, on Emergency Notifications, Reservations, Screens and Deliveries — not on the Visitors card. The platform page supplies the shape of that fee without its number: the platform is required to use Envoy products, it is 'priced as a flat annual fee', and it has its own Premium and Enterprise tiers that you choose before adding modules. That page also lists visitor management as one of the modules. Invoicing by ACH is offered only on Enterprise or with three or more Premium Yearly locations. Always verify the live price.

From the Envoy review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
What is the catch with Envoy?

None of the prices on that page is a price you can budget from. Four of the five product cards are followed by 'Price excludes platform fee', and the platform page says outright that the platform is required to use Envoy products and is charged as a flat annual fee — with its own Premium and Enterprise tiers to pick first, and no number published anywhere. That is the first thing to ask for. The second is how the meters stack, because they are all in different units: per location, per user, per bookable resource, per device, per delivery location. An office with forty bookable desks, six screens and one delivery point is paying on four clocks at once: $362 for the location, $200 for the desks, $72 for the screens and $250 for deliveries. That is $884 a month before the platform fee, and before emergency notifications at $2 a head. Price the combination you actually want, not the product you came for.

Essential Loyalty

Is Essential Loyalty worth it?

Essential Loyalty is genuinely best for Shopify stores with genuine repeat business that want a loyalty programme priced on the orders it influences rather than on total volume — and stores selling in person too, since POS support arrives at $10 and the free tier carries VIP tiers and referrals. Skip it if your customers buy once and rarely return, because a loyalty programme has nothing to work with and the free tier shows you that within a month; or you need API work from the start, since integrations are 'on request' and only on the $79 tier.

From the Essential Loyalty review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
How much does Essential Loyalty cost?

(read 2026-08-22 on apps.shopify.com/essential-loyalty-rewards-program) Four tiers, and the meter is the whole decision. It counts loyalty-influenced orders — repeat sales and referrals — rather than every order your store takes, which the plan text states outright. Free covers up to 250 of those and is unusually complete: the point program, VIP tiers, a referral program, twelve-plus ways to earn points, product, cart, popup and account placements, built-in email notifications with Klaviyo, and discount, gift, shipping and credit rewards. Starter is $10 a month for up to 500, adding a dedicated loyalty landing page, full customisation, Shopify Flow, POS support for in-store loyalty and 24/7 human support. Essential is $24 for up to 1,500, adding loyalty status on the customer orders and profile pages and points in product cards. Growth is $79 for unlimited loyalty orders, with API integrations on request, white-glove onboarding and priority support. Paid plans carry a 14-day free trial. Charges are in USD and recur every 30 days. Developer Essential Apps; the app runs in twenty languages and works with Checkout, Customer accounts, Shopify POS, Shopify Flow, Judge.me, Klaviyo and Omnisend. Rating 5.0 from 438 reviews, of which 430 are five-star and one is one-star. Always verify the live price.

From the Essential Loyalty review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
What is the catch with Essential Loyalty?

Two things to read closely before you pay. The meter is honest — loyalty-influenced orders, not all orders — and that is genuinely in your favour, but it also means you cannot work out your tier from your order count. A store doing 3,000 orders a month with little repeat business may sit on Free; one doing 800 with a loyal base may not. Measure your repeat and referral orders for a month before you choose. The second is an oddity on the listing itself. The free plan advertises an 'Advanced loyalty point program' while Starter at $10 advertises a 'Free loyalty point program', which read literally means the paid tier offers less on that line. It is almost certainly a labelling slip rather than a real downgrade, but it is the kind of line worth confirming with support before you upgrade for it.

Evey Events

Is Evey Events worth it?

Evey Events is genuinely best for Shopify stores that sell tickets alongside products and want attendees, orders and customer data in one place instead of reconciling a separate ticketing platform against the shop. Skip it if ticketing is your actual business rather than a sideline -- a dedicated platform gives you seating, promoter tools and box-office features that a Shopify app is not trying to match -- or you sell so few tickets that any per-ticket fee is friction you don't need.

From the Evey Events review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
How much does Evey Events cost?

(re-verified 8 September 2026 on apps.shopify.com/event-tickets; every figure unchanged since 1 September 2026) Four tiers, and every one of them charges twice: a monthly fee and a fee per ticket processed. Lite is free to install and takes $1.00 per ticket. Growth is $19 a month and $0.75. Standard, the tier the store marks Popular, is $49 and $0.50. Professional is $189 and $0.25. The paid tiers carry a 7-day free trial. Read that structure the right way round: the monthly fee is not what you are buying, it is what you pay to lower the per-ticket rate, so the correct plan follows from your ticket volume and nothing else. The crossings are exact. Lite and Growth cost the same at 76 tickets a month; below that Lite wins. Growth and Standard cross at 120. Standard and Professional cross at 560. So a store selling 300 tickets a month pays $199 on Standard against $244 on Growth and $264 on Professional -- the middle tier, and the store's own Popular label happens to be right for that range. One feature line changes that arithmetic and sits above the crossover: Collect fees on every ticket sold appears on Standard and Professional only, so passing the per-ticket cost to attendees is itself a paid feature. Beyond that, feature differences barely enter into it until Professional, which is where reserved seating, Klaviyo and Mailchimp integrations, the multi-vendor dashboard and priority support live. The app is published by Staytuned and carries a 4.4 rating from 320 reviews. Always verify the live price.

From the Evey Events review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
What is the catch with Evey Events?

Nobody gets caught by the monthly fee here; they get caught by the per-ticket one. On Lite the app is free to install and then takes a dollar off every ticket you sell, which is invisible until you sell volume and then is the largest line on the invoice. Work out your monthly ticket count before you install anything, because that single number picks your plan: under 76 stay on Lite, 76 to 120 move to Growth, 120 to 560 move to Standard, above that Professional. Getting this wrong is not a small error -- at 300 tickets a month the gap between the best and worst choice is about $65 every month.

Evolve

Is Evolve worth it?

Evolve is genuinely best for enterprises and scale-ups that need structured, measurable training rolled out across hundreds of employees — branded academies, AI-generated courses, job-skill simulations and assessment in one platform. Skip it if you're a small team that just needs a course builder or a lightweight LMS — the enterprise machinery and the procurement process are more than the job requires.

From the Evolve review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
How much does Evolve cost?

(re-verified 2026-08-31 on evolveplatform.ai) No public price list -- there is no /pricing page and the call to action across the site is 'Book an intro'. The platform is modular by design and the quote is built from which modules you contract and how many seats: Evolve LMS, Course Generate, Evolve Studio course builder, Assessment Center, Knowledge base and Simulations -- six independent but connected products, not four. Budget for an enterprise-tier commitment. Always verify the live price.

From the Evolve review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
What is the catch with Evolve?

It's built for large organizations — the site lists 100+ deployed enterprises like Carlsberg and Danone — and the sales-led, quote-only motion reflects that: there is no self-serve tier to trial quietly, so smaller teams can't just kick the tires before procurement gets involved.

Expandi

Is Expandi worth it?

Expandi is genuinely best for sales teams and agencies running LinkedIn (and email) outreach at scale who want smart sending limits, warm-up and multi-account management. Skip it if you send occasional connection requests (LinkedIn's native tools suffice), or you're uneasy about automation against LinkedIn's terms of service.

From the Expandi review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
How much does Expandi cost?

(re-verified 2026-08-17) 7-day free trial, no free plan. Business is $99 per month month-to-month; paying a year up front takes 20% off, which their own page describes as two months free, so roughly $79 a month equivalent. Pricing is per seat and Expandi states that the discount grows with the number of seats you buy, so a multi-seat agency quote is not simply the seat price multiplied. Higher tiers add role and permission management and centralised billing. Taxes vary by country and are added on top. Always verify the live price.

From the Expandi review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
What is the catch with Expandi?

There is no free tier and no cheap entry — Expandi starts at $99 a month per seat, and the friendlier $79 assumes annual commitment. It's also LinkedIn automation, which sits in a grey zone against LinkedIn's own terms: powerful for outreach, but a platform-risk you own.

ExpertEx

Is ExpertEx worth it?

ExpertEx is genuinely best for online stores that need a steady stream of product photos and short video ads and would otherwise pay a studio or a freelancer per shoot -- the e-commerce studio pushes results straight to the live store on Ultra and above. Skip it if you need one hero shoot a year (a photographer is cheaper and better), your products are hard to render convincingly, or you want a free tier to evaluate on -- generating always costs credits.

From the ExpertEx review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
How much does ExpertEx cost?

(read 2026-08-22 in a live browser on expertex.ai/pricing -- plain fetches return an empty page, so this is the first reading we have of the real ladder) There are four credit tiers, monthly against yearly with two months free. Starter is $10 or $7 for 1,000 credits, and Premium $30 or $20 for 3,000. Ultra is $75 or $45 for 7,500, and Professional $250 or $149 for 25,000. Paid three-day trials sit alongside them at $1 for Premium (1,000 credits), $2 for Ultra (2,000) and $5 for Professional (5,000), with full access and cancellation before renewal. The page's own calculator prices the work at 25 credits per product photo, 250 per short video ad and 2,000 per full reel, and reels require Ultra or above. Credits roll over month to month while the subscription is active and are lost on cancellation; you can top up on demand or upgrade mid-month, with upgrades prorated immediately and downgrades taking effect at the next billing date. Prompt Builder is free to use before subscribing. Always verify the live price.

From the ExpertEx review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
What is the catch with ExpertEx?

The plan cards and the calculator on the same page do not agree, and the gap is large enough to pick the wrong tier. Starter is sold as 65 product photos and 10 short video ads a month on 1,000 credits; at the calculator's own rates that work costs 4,125 credits, four times the allowance. The card numbers only reconcile if each is taken alone, and at roughly 15 credits a photo and 100 a video. The same 4.2x mismatch repeats on every tier, so it is a systematic difference rather than a typo. Ask which rate governs before you buy, because the calculator will steer you to a plan two rungs above what the card implies. The second thing to price is that this is a credit product with no free tier. Prompt Builder is free; generating is not. And the cheap trials ($1, $2, $5) are three days rather than a month -- enough to test output quality, not enough to test a monthly workflow. And the fundamental one: AI product photography is judged on whether the output is publishable without a retoucher. Run your own worst product through the trial -- a reflective bottle, a garment with fine texture -- rather than the kind of thing that looks good in every demo.

Expertise AI

Is Expertise AI worth it?

Expertise AI is genuinely best for B2B software teams (especially HubSpot-first) that want a live AI sales agent to qualify website visitors, hold buying conversations and route leads to reps. Skip it if you're not running B2B demand-gen through a CRM like HubSpot, or a simpler support chatbot covers your needs at a fraction of the Business-tier cost.

From the Expertise AI review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
How much does Expertise AI cost?

(re-verified 2026-09-03; the ladder itself is unchanged since our 15 August read, but the Business conversation allowance is not) The ladder was rebuilt since our July read: the Growth tier at $500/mo is gone, and Business is now $2,000/mo instead of $1,250. What is left is three tiers. Free Preview costs nothing and covers 1 AI agent, 10 conversations and up to 50 training materials. Business is $2,000/mo on both monthly and yearly billing. It adds conversations for websites with up to 50,000 monthly visitors — the table labels this "Limited", and unlimited conversations now sit on Enterprise — up to 500 training materials, visitor intelligence, proactive live chat in HubSpot, 2-way HubSpot sync, 3 playbooks, a webhook and implementation by their team. Its Voice AI carries 300 voice minutes a month, and $0.25 per minute after that. Enterprise is on quote, adding extra agents, Salesforce and Marketo, SSO, active engagement, API access and dedicated hosting. Two side products are priced separately on the same page: the booking system is free or $30/mo ($24/mo billed yearly), and the Expertise Assistant is free, $50/mo per user ($40 billed yearly) or custom. Always verify the live price.

From the Expertise AI review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
What is the catch with Expertise AI?

The honest catch is that there is no middle any more. When we re-read the pricing page on 15 August 2026, the $500/mo Growth tier had been withdrawn. So the ladder runs straight from a Free Preview capped at 10 conversations to Business at $2,000/mo. And everything that makes the product genuinely powerful — visitor intelligence that de-anonymizes traffic, the 2-way HubSpot sync, Voice AI — sits on that paid tier. There is no way to grow into it gradually. It's also a RAG agent, so it's only as good as the docs you feed it: give it thin content and it can answer buyers confidently but wrong. Strong for HubSpot-centric B2B teams; less compelling if you're not in that ecosystem.

ExpertSender

Is ExpertSender worth it?

ExpertSender is genuinely best for e-commerce stores from 10,000+ monthly visitors (the vendor's own stated ICP) and high-volume senders doing 100k+ emails a month, who want email, SMS, push and on-site messaging on one unified customer data platform with a managed, dedicated-partner setup. Skip it if your store is still building traffic or you want self-serve, pay-as-you-grow email marketing — a Klaviyo-class tool is the lighter, cheaper start.

From the ExpertSender review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
How much does ExpertSender cost?

(price re-verified 2026-08-17 against the vendor's own pricing page) (2026) Quote-based with a documented floor: their site lists pricing starting around $450/mo, scaling with volume and channels, and they explicitly target stores with at least 30,000 unique monthly visits. No free tier — a free consultation is the entry point. Always verify the live price.

From the ExpertSender review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
What is the catch with ExpertSender?

The $450/mo floor and the 30k-monthly-visits target make this an established-store tool, not a starter one: below that traffic the platform can't pay for itself, and there is no self-serve plan to test it cheaply first.

Fast Bundle

Is Fast Bundle worth it?

Fast Bundle is genuinely best for Shopify merchants who want every bundle and upsell format from one app — mix-and-match, build-your-own, BOGO, volume breaks, AI frequently-bought-together — priced against what those offers actually earn rather than a flat fee, and who are comfortable with an app that Shopify delisted for two weeks in July 2026 and then restored. Skip it if you need one bundle type only, where a single-purpose app costs less than the metered ladder; you sell in person, since Shopify POS support sits behind the $299 Enterprise tier; or an app in your path to checkout having been pulled and deactivated once, however well handled, is a risk you cannot carry.

From the Fast Bundle review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
How much does Fast Bundle cost?

(read 2026-08-24 on apps.shopify.com/fast-bundle-product-bundles, listed as “FBP | Fast Bundle & Upsell App”, and on fastbundle.co/pricing) The meter here is not your catalogue, your traffic or your seats — it is the revenue your bundles themselves generate. The listing is free to install and shows four tiers. Development stores are free to install and free to run. Standard (1K) is $19 a month or $180 a year and covers up to $1,000 of monthly bundle sales. Standard (3K) is $49 a month or $468 a year for up to $3,000. Standard (10K) is $139 a month or $1,380 a year for up to $10,000. All three paid tiers carry a 7-day free trial and the same feature list: unlimited bundles, upsells and cross-sells, mix and match, volume-discount upsell, BOGO and Buy X Get Y, unlimited AI frequently-bought-together, product add-ons, 24/7 English support and the AI bundle image generator. The App Store states all charges are billed in USD and recur every 30 days. The vendor's own pricing page adds a fifth tier the listing never shows: Enterprise at $299 a month or $2,988 a year, described as limitless monthly bundle revenue, with automatic bundle detection in the cart, Shopify POS integration, minor specialised customisations, priority onboarding with an account manager and a five-minute support target against Standard's thirty. That page also prices the annual commitments as effective monthly rates — $15, $39, $115 and $249 — under a “2-MONTHS FREE” label, and it is the only place the free plan is described in full: all six bundle types, 24/7 support, available to development stores and “eligible merchants”, and capped at $500 in bundle sales a month. Its comparison table shows what the free tier gives up: volume discounts and product add-ons on selected products only rather than collections or the whole catalogue, no AI frequently-bought-together across all products, no multilingual translation, no subscription-app integration, and a “Powered by Fast Bundle” credit left on your storefront. Fast Bundle's own FAQ defines the metered revenue as sales through bundles, volume discounts, product add-ons, mix and match, Buy X Get Y, frequently bought together and other offers created with the app, and states that exceeding your plan's monthly bundle revenue limit means upgrading to keep campaigns running. Developer Fast Bundle, listed at 13353 Commerce Parkway, Unit 2353, Richmond, BC, Canada; the app launched on 26 November 2020, the vendor's site claims 22,400 merchants, and the listing carried 3,031 reviews at a 5.0 average at the time of writing. Always verify the live price.

From the Fast Bundle review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
What is the catch with Fast Bundle?

The most important thing about this app is not on its App Store listing. On 17 July 2026 Fast Bundle detected what its own status page calls a security attack; Shopify removed the app from the App Store as a precaution and deactivated it on existing stores, so merchants found it simply gone. It was restored to limited visibility on 30 July and fully searchable again on 3 August, after Shopify reviewed an incident report and a third-party vulnerability and penetration test. The vendor states its investigation and testing found no indication that any customer, store or shopper data was accessed, exposed or leaked, and that 2,405 stores had reinstalled by early August. Shopify's own words, quoted on that page, are that the app “has been restored to limited visibility”. Nobody outside the process can verify what was reached, and neither the vendor nor Shopify has published the technical detail. What is verifiable is the shape of the disruption: a storefront-facing app pulled without warning, deactivated on live stores, and roughly two weeks coming back. If your bundles carry your average order value, that is the risk you are underwriting — not because it is likely to recur, but because it has happened once and the app sits in the path to checkout. The review record needs reading with that date in mind. 5.0 from 3,031 reviews is exceptional, and the breakdown is 3,000 at five stars against 19 at one. But most of that history predates July 2026, and Shopify app ratings skew high because merchants are prompted for them. What an average cannot tell you is how a vendor handles an incident, and on that the status page is the better evidence: dated, specific, quoting Shopify directly, and correcting its own earlier estimates in public. That is a good sign about communication rather than about security. One practical hazard came out of the outage and has not gone away. While the app was delisted, other apps renamed themselves to include “Fast Bundle” — the vendor names Fast Bundle Offer, BOGO, BYOB; Sparrow Fast Bundle Upsell App; and Rabbit Fast Bundle & Upsell — and Shopify subsequently delisted three of them. Searching the App Store for the name is therefore not a reliable way to find this app. Install from the listing slug, fast-bundle-product-bundles, and check that the developer reads Fast Bundle. Finally, the listing's data grant is broad even for this category: it edits customers and customer tags, products, inventory and collections, orders including third-party fulfilment and order edits, discount codes and promotions, Shopify Functions cart transforms, the checkout page and Online Store pages. Cart transforms are how a bundle becomes a single line item, so the scope is explicable, but an app with write access to your discounts and your checkout page belongs in your processing register and in whatever review you run after an incident like July's.

Fastmail

Is Fastmail worth it?

Fastmail is genuinely best for individuals and small businesses that want fast, private, ad-free email on their own domain with proper support and masked-email aliases. Skip it if your team lives in Google Docs/Drive collaboration (Workspace bundles that), or free mail genuinely serves you and privacy isn't a priority.

From the Fastmail review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
How much does Fastmail cost?

(read 2026-08-26 on fastmail.com/pricing over a US connection, with their country selector on United States and the 12-month term chosen) Individual is $5 a month, or $60 for twelve months, with 60 GB of storage for one person. Duo is $8 a month ($96 a year) for two inboxes and 120 GB. Family is $11 a month ($132 a year) for up to six people and up to 360 GB, at 60 GB each. The page also sells 24- and 36-month terms, so the twelve-month figure is the middle of three commitments rather than the cheapest one. Always verify the live price.

From the Fastmail review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
What is the catch with Fastmail?

You're paying for what the free giants monetize differently: no ads, no profiling, real support and standards-first email (JMAP/IMAP everywhere). The honest limits: it's email/calendar/contacts, not a Workspace-style office suite, so document collaboration lives elsewhere, and migrating decades of Gmail habits (filters, integrations) takes a weekend of care. For owning your address on your own domain, it's the boring, excellent choice.

Feedvisor

Is Feedvisor worth it?

Feedvisor is genuinely best for mid-market and enterprise Amazon sellers with large catalogs where algorithmic repricing and ad optimization move real revenue. Skip it if you're a small seller (rule-based repricers cost a tenth), or your margins are set by factors repricing can't touch.

From the Feedvisor review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
How much does Feedvisor cost?

Feedvisor publishes no price, and we checked that again on 2026-09-03. feedvisor.com/pricing returns a 404. Their own llms.txt lists every public page and contains no pricing page and no amount. The plan comparison at feedvisor.com/plans does publish a tier structure — Professional, Premium and Enterprise for price optimisation, Feedvisor and Feedvisor Plus for advertising, and a single Enterprise tier for brand optimisation — but every column ends in Request Demo rather than a figure. One correction to what we wrote before: the sentence we attributed to Feedvisor, that pricing is hybrid and varies with catalogue size, ad spend and complexity, is no longer anywhere on their site. The platform has been rebranded to Agentis and that wording went with it, so we no longer put those words in their mouth. Every figure you will read elsewhere, including the roughly $100 a month entry tier and the roughly $1,500 a month for the full platform that we carried before, comes from third parties or from sales conversations rather than from Feedvisor. Treat those as indicative only, and expect a sales call. Always verify the live price.

From the Feedvisor review — hand-researched, sources on the page.
What is the catch with Feedvisor?

The honest structure: the $100 tier is a limited on-ramp, and most of what Feedvisor is famous for (the algorithmic Buy-Box strategy that holds prices UP, ad management, analysts) lives behind the $1,500+ top tier — this is enterprise software for serious catalogs, priced accordingly. If your Amazon revenue can't absorb that as a small percentage, simpler repricers are the rational choice.
