All charges are billed in USD and recur every 30 days, and Meta's per-conversation charges are separate from all of it. Developer Dondy, Givatayim, Israel; the app launched 15 March 2023, is available in five languages, and had 774 reviews at the time of writing, 3% of them one-star. Plans change — always verify the live price on their site.
The honest knock
The free plan is a chat button. It is a decent chat button, and conversations through it are unlimited, but none of the marketing this app is named for is in it: automated cart recovery, campaigns and the official API begin at $79.99 a month, and the $6.99 tier in between only lets you send those same messages by hand. You will also get two bills. Dondy charges the subscription; Meta charges per conversation on the WhatsApp Business API, and Dondy can only tell you the rate starts at $0.0158 or $0.0126, because the real figure depends on the country you are messaging and the type of conversation. A thousand one-click messages a month are included on the two top tiers; past that, your monthly total is not knowable from this listing, and a campaign to a large segment is exactly the kind of thing that produces a surprise. Model it against your own list size and destination countries before you send one. The rest is Meta's rulebook, not Dondy's. Opt-in, message templates and sender quality are governed on WhatsApp's side, so approval and reach are not things this app can promise you whatever you pay it. The review record is strong — 774 reviews, 91% at the top rating — and it still contains 21 one-star reports, which is the ordinary shape of a channel where a misfired broadcast is not an unsubscribe but a block.
When the paid plan is worth it
There are two meters here, and the second one decides the tier. The subscription ladder is $6.99, $79.99 and $159.99, and the step from the first to the second is where the product actually starts: Pro buys a better button and messages you send by hand, while automated cart recovery, campaigns and the official WhatsApp Business API all begin at Power Automation. The second meter is Meta's, and Dondy quotes its own floor for it: conversations start at $0.0158 on Power Automation and $0.0126 on Elite, with 1,000 one-click messages included every 30 days on both. That gap is worth a sum. Elite costs $80 a month more and saves $0.0032 a conversation, so on messaging alone the upgrade repays itself at around 25,000 conversations a month. Below that volume the $80 is buying the AI chatbot, the five-agent inbox and the account manager — which may well be worth it, but as a features decision rather than a volume one.
How to actually use Dondy
Work out the second bill first. Take last month's abandoned carts and the countries they came from, multiply by the rate Dondy quotes for the plan you are considering, and set that next to the subscription. The total is what WhatsApp marketing actually costs you, and it is the only number worth comparing against the email flow you already run. Then start on Power Automation rather than Pro, because a cart-recovery message you send by hand is a demo, not a channel. Switch on one flow — abandoned cart — and leave everything else off for a fortnight. Read the replies rather than the delivery rate. WhatsApp is a personal inbox: if people answer your cart message you have acquired a support channel as well as a marketing one, and that, not the message volume, is what decides whether the Elite tier's five-agent inbox and AI chatbot are worth the step up.
