Ten principles. Each with its receipt.

Most of the software-review internet is rented out: rankings sold as advice, stars nobody counted, discounts that never existed. This site is an experiment in the opposite direction — and because promises are cheap, every principle below links to the system that enforces it.

1We never publish an invented number.If we can’t verify a price, we say "we couldn’t verify this" — out loud, on the page. → see the dossiers
2Every flag carries its evidence.Call a tool “per-seat” or “metered” and you owe the reader the sentence that proves it. Our build tools literally refuse to publish a flag without one. → the Atlas · the methodology
3We say “skip it” — about tools that pay us.Every single dossier has a skip-it-if section. Commission never edits a verdict. → read any review
4Disclosure on every page, not in the small print.If a page carries an affiliate link, it says so, visibly — all of them. → how we review
5No fake urgency, no fake discounts.No countdown timers, no “only 2 left”, no invented was-prices. Ever.
6Nothing here is pay-to-play.Reviews can’t be bought and our Awards can’t be applied for — winners are drawn from the research, evidence shown, and several winners aren’t partners at all. → the Awards
7We deleted our own star ratings.In 2026 we removed every third-party rating from this site — thousands of them — because we couldn’t verify the numbers. Traffic is worth less than trust.
8Our research is yours to take.The whole corpus is a free, open dataset (CC BY 4.0). Journalists, researchers, competitors: help yourselves. → the dataset
9When a vendor raises prices, we write it down.We snapshot every partner pricing page, every month. Price history shouldn’t evaporate. → the price-hike registry
10When we’re not neutral, we tell you.Our Claude review opens by admitting this whole site is built with Claude. That’s what disclosure means. → the Claude review
