The Honest Software Awards 2026
No entries, no fees, no sponsors. These awards are earned the boring way: we hand-research the pricing of every tool we cover (501 and counting), flag every cost-trap with evidence — and once a year, we celebrate the vendors who do pricing right. 14 winners, 4 categories, and the receipt shown under every single award.
How winners are chosen. No submissions, no entry fees, no sponsored placements — vendors can’t apply and didn’t know in advance. Winners are drawn from the Honest Software Atlas, our hand-researched dossier corpus (also available as an open dataset). Each award quotes the dossier evidence it rests on. The winners were picked by hand on 7 July 2026. Every rebuild of this page re-reads each winner’s evidence sentence in its dossier and stops if the sentence is gone; when a dossier no longer supports an award, the award is withdrawn (three were, on 15 September 2026: SignNow, AISQ and Lindy.ai). Public prices, plain tiers, no quote games, no gotchas we could find.
What it takes: every self-serve plan priced on the vendor's own page, metered extras priced there too, and no gotcha we could find in the dossier. A clearly labelled promotion is allowed, and a custom enterprise plan alongside public tiers does not rule a tool out: the award is about the plans the page does publish. Four public tiers from $24 a month, with the metered items — extra domains and AI credits — priced on the page too.
