WhatsApp Business API platform for sales and support: shared team inbox, bulk broadcasts and no-code chatbots — plus Astra, its AI agent builder for agents that actually resolve conversations (orders, refunds, bookings, lead qualification) across WhatsApp, web and voice. Its omnichannel inbox now also carries TikTok DMs natively (all plans, no extra cost) alongside Instagram and RCS — with ad-to-chat context that shows exactly which TikTok ad triggered a conversation. It now ships its own MCP server as well: connect Claude or ChatGPT once and manage contacts, send WhatsApp campaigns, read past chats and build agents in plain language, while sends still run on your own approved templates and the full history stays in the Wati dashboard. Wati's own page puts the cost like this: free for current paid Astra customers with no usage cap during launch, and full MCP access on every Astra plan for new customers (checked 4 Aug 2026).

(re-verified 2026-07-23) Growth $39/mo, Pro $79/mo and Business $199/mo when billed annually; paying monthly costs $49, $99 and $249. Users are capped per tier: Growth includes 3 and lets you add none at all, Pro and Business include 5 with extra seats at $24 and $59 per user per month. Add-ons are separate again — 1,000 automation triggers $25/mo, 1,000 AI co-pilot credits $20/mo, Shopify $4.99/mo, each extra WhatsApp number $29/mo. On top of all of that sit Meta's own per-conversation message fees, which Wati bills through at its own rate card. Plans change — always verify the live price on their site.

The plan price is the smallest part of the bill. Growth is capped at three users and you cannot buy a fourth at any price, so growing past three people forces the jump to Pro; from there extra seats are $24 each, and $59 each on Business. Automation triggers, AI credits, the Shopify link and every additional WhatsApp number are all separately metered, and Meta's per-conversation fees land on top of the lot. Model your real message volume and seat count before committing — that is where the money actually goes.
Recurring themes from G2, Capterra and Trustpilot, read in August 2026. We have not run Wati ourselves, so this is other buyers' experience rather than ours. We summarise it here because the complaints are usually the part a vendor page leaves out.
Where the ratings disagree. 4.6 on G2 and Capterra against about 3.5 on Trustpilot across 240 reviews. The Trustpilot complaints are cancellation friction, per-message pricing opacity and support at scale — not the product itself.
Growth ($39/mo annual) pays for itself once WhatsApp is a channel you answer every day and three seats genuinely cover the team — but Growth sells no extra seats at any price, so if you are already three people, price Pro ($79/mo plus $24 per extra seat) from day one and save yourself the forced mid-quarter jump. Business ($199/mo) only earns its premium once you concretely need multiple WhatsApp numbers or the advanced AI agents. And know what upgrading does not fix: Meta's per-conversation fees are identical on every tier, so the metered part of the bill never shrinks by paying Wati more.
Setup is three chains, not one: a verified Meta Business Manager account (have real business documents ready), a phone number that is not already tied to any WhatsApp account, and then Wati's own connect flow — which is genuinely quick once the first two exist. The comments under every tutorial tell the same story: people rarely get stuck in Wati itself, they get stuck at Meta's business verification and at numbers that will not release from an existing WhatsApp. Budget days, not minutes, for Meta's checks; then start small with one approved template broadcast and the no-code chatbot builder before layering automations. Distilled from Wati's own setup tutorials and independent walkthroughs on YouTube, plus their help-center (Getting Started, Connect Your Number)
The natural comparison is Interakt or a direct Meta BSP — other WhatsApp API providers. Decide by which one fits the job above, not by the louder brand.
My ex-banker filter is simple: does Wati remove a real cost — time, errors, missed revenue — bigger than what it charges? If the job above is genuinely yours, it's worth a look. We never publish fake or “exclusive” prices, so always confirm the current plan on their site.
Generally yes, since this category is built for it, but the details that bite are timezone handling, how per-seat cost scales as the team spreads, and whether numbers, routing or coverage exist in the countries your people actually sit in. Availability varies far more by country than the marketing pages suggest, so check your specific regions before committing.
Skip it if your customers aren't on WhatsApp or your volume is tiny — the platform fee plus per-message costs aren't worth it for a trickle. Buying a tool to fix a problem you don't have yet just adds cost and another login to manage.
