Two plans. Premium is $19 a month with a 3-day free trial and covers copy protection for text and images, IP and country blocking, fraudulent store (clone) detection, nightly lookalike-domain scans, real-time alerts and the in-app DMCA and abuse-report tools. Image Monitoring is billed on top at $0.20 per image scan; the FAQ says the first 25 scans are free and that usage charges have a $20 monthly spending cap by default, which you can change in the app.
Enterprise is $399 a month and adds unlimited image monitoring, priority support, dedicated account management and custom integrations; the FAQ and the vendor's homepage say the StoreLock team then monitors the alerts and files abuse reports on your behalf. All charges are in USD, billed through Shopify every 30 days. Developer Williams Web Services LLC of Columbus, Ohio (founder Adam Weis); the listing gives a launch date of 30 June 2023 and shows a 4.6 rating from 10 reviews. The copy protection blocks right-click, text selection, keyboard shortcuts and image dragging, and the vendor's own FAQ says what it cannot stop: screenshots, browser developer tools, visitors with JavaScript switched off and automated scrapers, which is how stores actually get cloned. It is a deterrent against casual copying. The part that does real work is detection and takedown: clone detection, a nightly scan of hundreds of lookalike variants of your domain that a person at StoreLock reviews before you get an alert, reverse image searches, and DMCA and abuse notices pre-filled with the evidence.
Even then, the FAQ says StoreLock cannot make a registrar respond, and a typical notice takes days to weeks. The gap between the plans is large. On Premium at $19 you file the notices yourself; having StoreLock's team watch the alerts and file for you is the Enterprise plan at $399 a month, about twenty times the price. Most of the reviews thank 'Adam and his team' by name for chasing fakes down, so check before you install which plan the help you are reading about came with.
Image Monitoring costs $0.20 per image scan: ten images scanned weekly is about 40 scans, or $8 a month, and the default $20 cap is reached at 100 scans. The one critical review is a warning about putting a script in front of your storefront. On 28 April 2026 a Canadian store that had used the app for about a year wrote that after an update everyone was blocked from accessing their store, and they removed it rather than wait a day for support.
StoreLock replied that it had released an update to its content protection, had no other such reports, had received no support request and had contacted the store within 30 minutes of the uninstall. The other 9 of 10 reviews are five stars, two of them written within 25 minutes of installing. Also note that after a theme update you must switch the app embed back on, or the protection is silently off. We have not installed the app.
Shopify app (by Williams Web Services) that finds cloned storefronts, lookalike domains and stolen product photos, packages the evidence and sends DMCA and abuse reports from the app, with on-site copy protection and country blocking.

Premium at $19 a month includes every detection and reporting feature: clone detection, nightly lookalike-domain scans, alerts, copy protection, country blocking and the DMCA tools. The only metered part is Image Monitoring at $0.20 per image scan. Choose a handful of your most-copied photos, scan them weekly or monthly rather than daily, and keep the default $20 cap, so the total stays at or under $39 a month. Enterprise at $399 is a different product: StoreLock's team watches the alerts and files the abuse reports, follows up and escalates, with unlimited image monitoring.
That is worth it only for a brand that is cloned repeatedly and whose own time on takedowns costs more than $380 a month. Start on Premium; you will know after one incident whether you want to do the next one yourself.
Install the app, then click 'Enable StoreLock' on the settings page and save the app embed in the theme customiser. Check that it works in a private browser window while logged out of Shopify, because the app does not block anything while you are logged in and viewing your own store. Add any extra domains your store uses under the authorised domains, along with speed or accessibility testing tools you want to let through.
Add the team members who should receive alert emails, and allow mail from hello@ and legal@storelock.app, which the FAQ says strict filters sometimes block. If you sell in only a few countries, think carefully before blocking whole regions: a mistake there locks out real customers, and a store that locked out every visitor after an update is exactly what the one critical review describes. For Image Monitoring, pick your most valuable images in the gallery and use the 25 free scans first.
Mark authorised retailers and review sites as ignored so they stop showing up. After every theme change, open StoreLock and switch the app embed back on. To cancel, uninstall the app from your Shopify admin; protection stops immediately and your data is deleted within 30 days.

The natural comparison is doing it yourself — Without an app, protecting a Shopify store from clones means searching for copies of your store and photos yourself, finding the registrar and host of each fake site through WHOIS, and writing a DMCA notice with evidence for each one. All of that is free and nothing in StoreLock is out of reach for a patient store owner. What the $19 Premium plan saves you is the searching and the paperwork: a nightly scan of hundreds of domain variants, clone detection, reverse image search at $0.20 per image scan, and notices pre-filled with the WHOIS details and evidence URLs. StoreLock also says it is a trusted reporter for several security providers and passes confirmed cases to the CleanDNS anti-abuse network, which a store owner emailing an abuse inbox does not get; we cannot verify how much faster that makes a takedown. If you have never been copied, searching for your store name and best product photos once a month by hand is a reasonable start; if you have been cloned once, the monitoring is what the money buys..
Premium is $19 a month with a 3-day free trial; Image Monitoring costs $0.20 per image scan on top, with 25 free scans and a $20 monthly cap by default. Enterprise is $399 a month and includes a team that files takedowns for you. Read on the Shopify App Store on 1 October 2026.
Only casual copying. It blocks right-click, text selection and shortcuts, but the vendor says screenshots, developer tools, scrapers and visitors without JavaScript get through. Its main use is detecting clones and lookalike domains and helping you get them taken down.
On Enterprise at $399 a month, yes: the StoreLock team files the abuse reports. On Premium you send pre-filled DMCA notices yourself from the app, and StoreLock cannot guarantee that a registrar acts on them.
Judge it on evidence rather than adjectives. Look for a published security page, single sign-on and role controls on the plan you would actually buy (they are often gated to higher tiers), a status page with real incident history, and a clear answer on where your data is stored. If the tool will hold anything sensitive, those four answers matter more than any feature comparison.
