The honest mechanic is the revenue ladder: plans cap by your ANNUAL SALES, so success moves you up. Throughout this review we weigh it against Gumroad.

Best for: creators selling digital products, subscriptions and print-on-demand who want a simple store with zero platform commission.

Pricing (2026)

✓ Pricing re-verified 7 Sep 2026

Starter is $29/mo billed monthly or $22/mo billed yearly, for up to $10k of sales a year; Business $79 or $59, up to $50k; Premium $159 or $119, up to $200k; above that Sellfy quotes you. Yearly billing saves 25%, there is a 14-day trial, a 30-day money-back guarantee and no free tier. 0% transaction fees on every plan, though PayPal or Stripe still take roughly 2.9% + 30c per transaction.

The revenue limits are soft: Sellfy's own pricing.md says the store is never suspended and you are never forced to upgrade, while the page's FAQ says you are expected to upgrade and that Sellfy may instead charge a 2% overage fee on revenue above the limit. What the price did

We capture Sellfy’s own pricing page every month and keep the figures, so this is our record of the page — not a forecast, and not someone else’s summary.

This is the clearest increase we caught this summer. Our July 2026 capture titles the page 'Plans From $22/mo' and records $29 monthly against $22 yearly for Starter; the August 2026 capture titles it 'Plans From $29/mo' and records $39 monthly against $29 yearly. The two tiers above it did not move ($79/$59 and $159/$119 in both), and re-reading the page on 17 August 2026 confirmed the August figures. So the increase landed on the entry plan only, and it is about 32% on both billing terms. And then it went back: our 1 September 2026 capture titles the page 'Plans From $22/mo' again and shows Starter at $29 monthly against $22 yearly, exactly the July figures, with the two higher tiers still at $79/$59 and $159/$119. The increase lasted about a month.

The catch

But the caps are soft - Sellfy's FAQ says it may charge 2% on revenue above your limit rather than forcing an upgrade, so ask whether that applies to you before jumping a tier. The 0% transaction fee is genuinely rare and beats percentage-taking platforms at volume; below a few hundred in monthly sales the flat subscription is the tax instead, and your processor still takes about 2.9% + 30c regardless.

What buyers report about Sellfy

Recurring themes from the buyer-review sites listed at the foot of this page, read in August 2026. We have not run Sellfy ourselves, so this is other buyers' experience rather than ours. We summarise it here because the complaints are usually the part a vendor page leaves out.

What they praise
  • • No transaction fees, and the checkout is clean, fast and mobile-friendly — reviewers link that directly to conversion.
  • • Beginner-friendly enough that a creator gets a store live the same day. 14-day trial with no card.
What they complain about
  • • Starter caps at $10,000 in annual sales and charges 2% above that. Check which side of that line you expect to be on.
  • • Storefront customisation and templates are limited, and analytics are thin on the lower tiers.
  • • Email credits are limited and support is email-only.
  • • Mobile site speed is reported as weak. Three paid tiers, and the jump between them is where the cost decision sits — the pricing section above has the current figures.

Going over the cap costs 2%, not a tier

Sellfy's plans cap by your annual sales, which makes this one of the few pricing pages where growing your business is what raises your bill. Starter is $29 a month billed monthly or $22 billed yearly, up to $10k of sales a year; Business is $79 or $59, up to $50k; Premium is $159 or $119, up to $200k; above that you are quoted. Note the summer's detour: in August 2026 the entry plan read $39 monthly and $29 yearly, and by 1 September it was back at $29 and $22.

The argument for it is real and it is the 0% transaction fee. Every plan takes nothing per sale, which against percentage-taking marketplaces is decisive at volume. Your payment processor still charges you, though: PayPal or Stripe take roughly 2.9% + 30c, and that is not Sellfy's fee to waive. Express each plan as an effective take rate at the top of its band. $10,000 of sales for $264 a year is 2.64%; $50,000 for $708 is 1.42%; $200,000 for $1,428 is 0.71%.

It gets better the closer you sit to a ceiling. But the ceilings are softer than they look, and this is the part that changes the decision. Exceeding your limit does not automatically move you up a tier and does not suspend your store. Sellfy's own pricing document calls the limits soft caps; the page's FAQ says you are expected to upgrade, and that if you have not, they may charge a 2% overage fee on the revenue above the limit.

Take that at face value and the cliff most write-ups describe disappears. Staying on Starter at $264 and paying 2% on the excess works out cheaper than Business's $708 until about $32,200 of annual sales, well inside Business's band; staying on Business beats Premium until roughly $86,000. The catch is the word may. The overage is Sellfy's discretion rather than a published entitlement, so it is a question to put to support in writing before you plan a year around it.

How to actually use Sellfy

Forecast your annual sales before you pick a plan, because that - not your feature list - is what the tiers are built on: $10k on Starter, $50k on Business, $200k on Premium. Then ask support one question in writing before you upgrade: what actually happens when you go over. The pricing page's FAQ says you are expected to move up a tier, but that if you have not, Sellfy may charge 2% on the revenue above the limit - and their own pricing document calls the caps soft and says the store stays live.

If that 2% is genuinely available to you, staying on Starter and paying it beats Business's $708 until about $32,200 of sales. Since the page says may, get it confirmed rather than assumed. Use the 14-day trial to check the storefront and the payout flow, and remember the processor fee is separate: PayPal or Stripe still take about 2.9% + 30c, which no plan removes.

Distilled from sellfy.com/pricing/ and sellfy.com/pricing.md, both read on 7 September 2026. Sellfy publishes a machine-readable pricing.md (its own header dates it 2026-08-05) carrying the full plan table, the per-plan feature matrix, file-size and email-credit limits, migration turnaround times and the overage rule; the live page was fetched in parallel and its FAQ checked against it. Every amount here comes from one of those two documents. They differ in emphasis on the one point that matters: pricing.md calls the revenue limits soft caps and says you are never forced to upgrade, while the live FAQ says you are expected to upgrade and that Sellfy may then charge a 2% overage. Both state the 2% mechanic itself, so it is reported with the vendor's own hedge attached. sellfy.com/llms.txt was also read and carries no pricing. Served in US dollars from a Netherlands connection, with no regional variant offered.

The natural comparison is Gumroad or Payhip — the creator-store trio — Gumroad takes ~10% but no subscription; the crossover math is simple: past ~$300-400/mo in sales, Sellfy's flat fee wins. Weigh it against Gumroad on the job you actually need done.

Frequently asked questions

What does Sellfy cost?

Starter is $29 a month, or $22 billed yearly; Business $79 or $59; Premium $159 or $119. Yearly saves about 25%. Read on 7 September 2026 - the entry plan rose to $39 and $29 in August and was back at these figures by September.

Did Sellfy just get more expensive?

It did, for about a month. Our captures show Starter at $22 yearly and $29 monthly in July 2026, $29 and $39 in August, and $22 and $29 again on 1 September, the July figures. Business and Premium were unchanged throughout. Whether August was a test or a promotion lapsing the page does not say; if you signed up in August, check what your renewal quotes.

What happens if I go over the sales limit?

Not the automatic tier jump you might expect. Sellfy's own pricing document calls the limits soft caps and says your store is never suspended and you are never forced to upgrade; the pricing page's FAQ says you are expected to upgrade, and that if you have not, Sellfy may charge a 2% overage fee on the revenue above your limit. Note the word may - it is discretionary, so confirm it in writing before you rely on it. If it does apply, staying on Starter and paying 2% on the excess is cheaper than Business until about $32,200 of annual sales.

What should I weigh before buying Growth & Revenue software?

It depends on whether you have the bottleneck it solves. Small teams get the most out of this category when one clear problem is already costing real hours or revenue; buying ahead of that just adds cost and another login. Price it against the hours or lost deals it removes, not against its feature list, and start on the smallest plan that covers the job.
