PostscriptPostscript Review (2026)

SEO & MarketingResearched assessment · by Daniel HaketUpdated 2026-08-01

The IT and productivity layer is where small, reliable tools quietly give you hours back — or, done wrong, add another login to babysit. So where does Postscript actually fit?

The honest bottom line. Worth it for Shopify stores with a list large enough that SMS beats email on response. Skip it once you are testing whether SMS works for you at all.

What Postscript does

SMS marketing for Shopify stores: campaigns, automations and opt-in tools.

Pricing (2026)

(2026-08-01, read on their own pricing page) Starter is shown as $0 a month with a $49 monthly minimum spend, at $0.015 then $0.009 per SMS and $0.045 per MMS, plus carrier fees. Growth is $100 a month at $0.01 then $0.008 per SMS and $0.03 per MMS, plus carrier fees. Carrier fees are marked with an asterisk on every tier and are not quantified on the page. A free trial is offered. Plans change — always verify the live price on their site.

The honest knock

The $0 a month is not free — it carries a $49 monthly minimum spend, which means $49 is your floor whether you send anything or not. Read the tiers as what they are: a platform fee plus a per-message rate plus carrier fees that the page will not quantify. That third line matters more than it looks, because carrier fees are levied per message by the mobile networks and on a large send they are a real fraction of the bill. Before you compare this with anything, work out your monthly message volume and multiply it out on both tiers: Growth costs $100 more in platform fee but saves a fifth of a cent per message, so it pays back somewhere around 50,000 messages a month.

Best for: Shopify stores with a list large enough that SMS beats email on response — the per-message economics only work once volume justifies the platform fee.

The natural comparison is Attentive or Klaviyo SMS — the direct SMS peers for ecommerce — compare total cost at your real monthly send volume, including carrier fees, not the platform fee. Decide by which one fits the job above, not by the louder brand.

My ex-banker filter is simple: does Postscript remove a real cost — time, errors, missed revenue — bigger than what it charges? If the job above is genuinely yours, it's worth a look. We never publish fake or “exclusive” prices, so always confirm the current plan on their site.

Frequently asked questions

Is Postscript secure and reliable enough to depend on?

Judge it on evidence rather than adjectives. Look for a published security page, single sign-on and role controls on the plan you would actually buy (they are often gated to higher tiers), a status page with real incident history, and a clear answer on where your data is stored. If the tool will hold anything sensitive, those four answers matter more than any feature comparison.

Who should not use Postscript?

Skip it if you are testing whether SMS works for you at all — the $49 minimum spend on the free tier means the experiment has a floor, and the carrier fees are an unknown you cannot price up front. Buying a tool to fix a problem you don't have yet just adds cost and another login to manage.
