Spanish is the default language and the supported list stops at six (Spanish, English, French, Portuguese, German and Italian).
people who write a lot on a Mac or Windows PC in one of its six languages and want dictation into any app, processed on their own computer, without a subscription.
you need dictation on your phone, a language beyond the six it supports, or transcription that never touches the internet at all.

Hablaki sells one thing: a lifetime licence for $9.99, paid once, with no subscription and no account. One licence covers up to 2 of your computers, and the same licence works on Mac and on Windows. Updates are included for life, the homepage says. You can try it for 14 days first without a card, and if it does not work for you there is a refund within 14 days of purchase, handled by Lemon Squeezy as merchant of record; after a refund the licence is deactivated.
Separately, Hablaki runs a free web transcriber in beta for audio files, limited to 5 transcriptions a day of up to 1 hour each. Plans change — always verify the live price on their site.
AIBUILDER — 20% off the Hablaki licence with the code AIBUILDER at checkout. Hablaki's maker gave us this code for our readers by email on 20 October 2026. Read the shape of it before you count on it: it is limited to the first 10 redemptions, so it may already be used up, and we have not run it through the checkout ourselves. It is not fully offline: the first model download, licence activation and periodic licence checks need an internet connection. On Intel Macs and Windows it transcribes more slowly, with a lighter voice component. There is no mobile app yet; Android is on the roadmap. Refunds are standard only within 14 days of purchase.
Voice dictation for Mac and Windows that runs on your own computer: press a key, speak, and the text is pasted where your cursor is in any app.

There is only one paid option, so the question is whether the trial convinces you. At $9.99 once for two computers, the price is low next to dictation apps that bill monthly; the risk sits in the details instead. Check during the 14-day trial that your language comes out cleanly, that the speed on your machine is acceptable (Hablaki itself says Intel Macs and Windows PCs transcribe a bit slower with a lighter voice component), and that pasting works in the apps you actually write in.
Download the app from hablaki.com for Mac or Windows and start the 14-day trial; no card or account is needed. On first launch it downloads its voice component: about 1.6 GB on Apple silicon Macs, or 480 MB on Intel Macs and Windows (145 MB if you pick the lightweight one), so do that on a decent connection. On a Mac, grant the microphone and accessibility permissions it asks for, and possibly input monitoring.
Then press F5 (or hold fn) on a Mac, or F9 or right Ctrl on Windows, speak, and press again: the text is pasted where your cursor is. Spanish is the default language; switch to English, French, Portuguese, German or Italian in Settings, or let it detect the language. When you buy, the licence key arrives by email and goes into Settings, on the License tab.
Distilled from Hablaki's own website: the English homepage with its FAQ and the refund policy, read on 2 November 2026, and the Spanish homepage, read on 21 October 2026. Hablaki's maker also sent us product details by email on 20 October 2026, which we checked against the site. Hablaki is an affiliate partner of ours through Lemon Squeezy. We have not used the software ourselves.

The natural comparison is Liltio — Liltio is in our dossiers as a local dictation app too: on 23 October 2026 it cost $49 once for a lifetime licence on 2 Apple silicon Macs, with optional AI to shorten, polish or translate. Hablaki costs $9.99 once, also covers Windows and Intel Macs, but has a fixed list of six languages.
Read on 2 November 2026: $9.99 once, for a lifetime licence on up to 2 computers, Mac or Windows. There is no subscription; updates are included, and a 14-day trial needs no card.
Hablaki says no: speech recognition runs on your own computer and no audio is sent to a server. It does need the internet for the first model download, licence activation and periodic licence checks. If a dictation fails, the audio stays in a temporary folder on your device for up to 24 hours so you can retry it.
Spanish by default, plus English, French, Portuguese, German and Italian. You choose the language in Settings or let it detect the language automatically.
A Mac with Apple silicon (M1 or later) or an Intel chip, or a 64-bit Windows 10 or 11 PC. The voice component it downloads is about 1.6 GB on Apple silicon and 480 MB on Intel and Windows, or 145 MB for the lightweight one.
Yes, within 14 days of purchase: email hola.hablaki@gmail.com from the address you bought with, with your order number or licence key. Lemon Squeezy processes the refund and the licence is deactivated. After 14 days Hablaki looks at each case.
