VolzaVolza Review (2026)The $1,500 Plan Skips 18 Countries

Growth & RevenueResearched assessment · by Daniel HaketContent updated 2026-09-25Prices checked 2026-09-23View Volza in the Atlas →

The entry plan is narrower than the marketing implies: $1,500 a year covers 182 countries and two users, while the 200-country coverage and ten seats start at $4,500. Throughout this review we weigh it against ImportGenius.

Best for: import-export businesses and sourcing teams that want global customs-level trade data plus verified buyer/supplier contacts at a fraction of enterprise pricing.
Price: Startup $1,500 a year (182 countries, 6,000 searches, 2 users); SME $4,500, Corporate $9,600 · full pricing as we read it on 23 Sep 2026 ↓

Pricing (2026)

✓ Pricing re-verified 23 Sep 2026

Three paid annual plans and a free trial. Startup is $1,500 a year: 182 countries (44 export and 50 import detailed databases, 160 export and 158 import mirror databases, 7 export and 7 import one-side databases, premium countries excluded), data from 2014 onward, 6,000 searches, full shipment view, 360,000 full-shipment download credits and 2 users. SME is $4,500 a year: 200 countries, adds the statistical databases (46 export, 48 import), unlimited searches under fair use, 1,040,000 download credits and 10 users.

Corporate is $9,600 a year: the same 200-country coverage, unlimited searches under fair use, 2,400,000 download credits and 15 users. The free trial runs 7 days with no card, is advertised as "$50 On sign up + Unlimited Volza credits", shows the last three years in full view with a six-month preview, and carries no full-shipment download credits. The 2-Year Value Plan is paid for the two years at once and advertised as 15% saving plus 15% bonus credits: Startup $2,550 (13,800 searches, 828,000 download credits, 5 users), SME $7,650 (2,392,000 credits, 10 users), Corporate $16,320 (5,520,000 credits, 15 users).

The comparison table also caps workspaces at 75, 300 and 600 (Startup, SME, Corporate), workspace deletions at 20, 75 and 100 a month, and shipments per workspace at 300,000, 500,000 and 750,000; the free trial allows 10 users. The page also states a refund promise: if you find no profitable opportunity, Volza will help you find one or refund in full. Plans change — always verify the live price on their site.

The catch

Three honest catches. Downloads run on a credit allowance — 360,000 a year on Startup — and an earlier reading of the catalogue put the cost per record at one credit for US or India shipments and up to ten in thinner markets; that per-country rate is not stated on the current pricing page and we could not re-verify it on 1 September 2026, so treat it as a question for sales rather than a fact.

And the update cycle is slow, with some datasets taking up to two months to refresh, which suits structural questions far better than reactive ones. There is a learning curve too; it rewards analysts, not casual users.

What Volza does

Export-import trade intelligence: search customs-level shipment records to find verified buyers and suppliers. Downloads run on a published credit allowance, from 360,000 full-shipment credits a year.

What buyers report about Volza

Recurring themes from the buyer-review sites listed at the foot of this page, read in August 2026. We have not run Volza ourselves, so this is other buyers' experience rather than ours. We summarise it here because the complaints are usually the part a vendor page leaves out.

What they praise
  • • Actual shipment records across 209 countries — you find real buyers and suppliers rather than a directory listing. India data refreshes weekly, US daily.
  • • 30 pre-set dashboards and pivot tables mean you are analysing rather than building reports, and support is described as responsive.
What they complain about
  • • Pricing is points-based on an annual subscription from around $1,500 a year, and reviewers warn the points burn faster than expected. Model your real search volume before committing.
  • • One reviewer specifically values downloading to Excel without point deduction — which tells you how much the point economy shapes daily use.
  • • It is an annual commitment; there is no light monthly option to test at low volume.

The $1,500 plan is not the 200-country plan

The headline and the coverage do not belong to the same plan. Startup is $1,500 a year and it buys 182 countries — the detailed and mirror databases, with the premium countries carved out. The 200-country figure that sells this whole category starts one rung up, at SME, $4,500 a year. So the honest entry price depends entirely on whether the markets you actually trade in sit inside the cheaper set, and that is the question to settle before you compare this with anything else.

Seats are the second trip-wire and they are unusually tight at the bottom. Startup covers two users; SME covers ten. Trade data is normally read by more people than it is searched by, so a two-seat plan tends to become one person exporting on behalf of colleagues — which spends the download allowance faster than the plan assumes, and hides who the tool is really for. Those allowances are published, and they are the number to plan against rather than the price: 360,000 full-shipment download credits a year on Startup, 1,040,000 on SME, 2,400,000 on Corporate.

Searches are capped at 6,000 on Startup and run unlimited under fair use above it.

How to actually use Volza

Ask two questions before you sign, because the headline price does not answer either. How many points does the plan include a year, and what does a shipment record cost in points for the specific countries you trade with? US and India are one point; thinner markets run up to ten, so the effective cost of your data varies tenfold depending on your lanes rather than on your plan. Then decide whether the refresh cycle fits your question.

Some datasets take up to two months to update. For structural work — mapping the top suppliers in a category, sizing a country's share of an HS code — that is fine. For watching a competitor switch supplier this quarter, it is not, and no plan fixes it. Name the person who will actually use it before you buy. This rewards analysts and has a genuine learning curve, so a subscription bought for the team in general tends to become a login nobody opens. Give one person the first month and a specific question to answer with it.

Distilled from volza.com/pricing, read in the browser pane 23 September 2026 (a plain fetch returns HTTP 403; previously read 1 September 2026): the four plan cards on both the Annually and the 2-Year Value Plan toggle, and the Detailed Feature Comparison table (users, workspaces, workspace deletions, workspace shipment limit), plus the refund promise on the same page.

The natural comparison is ImportGenius or Panjiva — the US-focused faster-updating one and the pricey enterprise incumbent. Weigh it against ImportGenius on the job you actually need done.

Frequently asked questions

Is Volza's 2-year plan worth it over paying annually?

Read 23 September 2026, the 2-Year Value Plan costs $2,550 for Startup, $7,650 for SME and $16,320 for Corporate, against $1,500, $4,500 and $9,600 a year on annual billing - so 15% off two annual terms, paid up front. It also adds 15% to the allowances: Startup gets 13,800 searches and 828,000 download credits over the two years instead of 12,000 and 720,000. The detail that matters most on the entry plan is seats: the Startup card shows 5 users on the 2-year plan against 2 on annual, while SME and Corporate stay at 10 and 15. So if two seats is what makes Startup awkward, the 2-year term fixes that for $1,050 less than moving to SME for a year - but it commits you for 24 months to the 182-country set, which still leaves out the premium countries.

Does the $1,500 Volza plan cover all 200 countries?

No. Read 23 September 2026, the Startup card says 182 countries, 'except premium countries', and lists the detailed, mirror and one-side databases it includes. SME at $4,500 a year is the first plan the page describes as 200 countries, and it adds the statistical databases (46 export, 48 import). The page does not name the premium countries on the card itself; it hides them behind a 'Click to View' toggle, so open that list and check it against the markets you actually trade before you compare Startup with anything. If one of your core lanes is on it, the real entry price is $4,500, not $1,500.

What does the Volza free trial actually let you do?

Read 23 September 2026, it runs 7 days with no card, advertises '$50 on sign up + unlimited Volza credits', allows 10 users, and shows the last three years in full view with the latest six months as a preview. The one thing it does not include is full-shipment download credits: that row says 'No'. So you can search, browse shipments and judge whether your lanes are covered, but you cannot export the records to a spreadsheet during the trial. Use the week to answer the coverage question - are your countries and HS codes there, and how fresh are they - rather than to build the report you are buying it for.

What should I weigh before buying Growth & Revenue software?

It depends on whether you have the bottleneck it solves. Small teams get the most out of this category when one clear problem is already costing real hours or revenue; buying ahead of that just adds cost and another login. Price it against the hours or lost deals it removes, not against its feature list, and start on the smallest plan that covers the job.
