TrainerizeTrainerize Review (2026)

Operations & WorkflowResearched assessment · by Daniel HaketUpdated 2026-08-11

The best operations tools remove repetitive work quietly — the win is fewer dropped balls and less manual oversight, not more dashboards. So where does Trainerize actually fit?

The honest bottom line. Worth it for personal trainers and studios delivering structured workout/nutrition coaching through a polished client app, scaling by client count. Skip it once you coach a handful of clients over WhatsApp and sheets happily, or you want one flat price without add-on shopping.

What Trainerize does

Personal training and fitness-coaching platform. Deliver workout and nutrition plans, message clients and take payments from one branded app, so trainers can coach more clients online.

Pricing (2026)

(2026) Free for 1 client; Grow ~$9/mo (2 clients); Pro scales by client count (~$23/mo at 5 clients to ~$275/mo at 200); Studio Plus ~$248/mo per location. The add-ons are the real bill: nutrition $20-45/mo, payments $10/mo, video coaching $10/mo, branded app ~$169 one-time + $99/yr. Plans change — always verify the live price on their site.

The catch

The client-count ladder looks gentle, but working trainers switch on nutrition, payments and video — and the real monthly lands 30-50% above the sticker (a Pro-50 at ~$120 becomes ~$165+ dressed for work). Price the stack you'll actually coach with. That said, the client experience and ABC ecosystem are genuinely mature; churn-prone coaches lose more to a clunky app than to a fair subscription.

What buyers report about Trainerize

Recurring themes from Capterra, GetApp and Software Advice, read in August 2026. We have not run Trainerize ourselves, so this is other buyers' experience rather than ours. We summarise it here because the complaints are usually the part a vendor page leaves out.

What they praise
  • The most well-rounded coaching platform in the category — AI workout builder, meal planner and video coaching in one place.
  • Clients get an app that looks like a real product rather than a spreadsheet.
What they complain about
  • The $23 headline is not what solo coaches pay. Real setups land at $100-$200 a month once custom branding ($169 one-off on Pro), Stripe Payments ($10/month) and Advanced Nutrition ($20-45) are added.
  • Price increases trigger automatically when you cross a client threshold — growth costs you before it pays you.
  • Building and editing workouts is confusing and slow, and the exercise library is thin with some outdated or unsafe entries.
  • Crashes and glitches are reported.
Best for: personal trainers and studios delivering structured workout/nutrition coaching through a polished client app, scaling by client count.

The natural comparison is TrueCoach or Everfit — the coaching-platform peer set — all use client-tiers plus add-ons; compare your fully-dressed stack price, not entry rows. Decide by which one fits the job above, not by the louder brand.

My ex-banker filter is simple: does Trainerize remove a real cost — time, errors, missed revenue — bigger than what it charges? If the job above is genuinely yours, it's worth a look. We never publish fake or “exclusive” prices, so always confirm the current plan on their site.

Frequently asked questions

Does Trainerize replace my current setup or sit on top of it?

Usually it sits on top rather than replacing everything. Tools in this class tend to become the layer where work is tracked and handed off, while your existing systems stay the source of truth for their own data. Before you buy, map which tools it would replace outright and which it would merely sync with. If the answer is that it syncs with all of them, you are adding a layer rather than removing one.

Who should not use Trainerize?

Skip it if you coach a handful of clients over WhatsApp and sheets happily, or you want one flat price without add-on shopping. Buying a tool to fix a problem you don't have yet just adds cost and another login to manage.
