SimplyBook.meSimplyBook.me Review (2026)Two Caps: Bookings and Features

Operations & WorkflowResearched assessment · by Daniel HaketUpdated 2026-09-16

The plan ladder is set by bookings per month and by how many custom features you may switch on, and those two ceilings move independently — so you can outgrow a plan on features while nowhere near the booking cap, or the reverse. Free and Basic also carry SimplyBook.me branding on your booking page; white-label starts at Premium.

Best for: service businesses that take appointments and want a booking page, reminders and online payment without building one.
Price: Free tier; paid from €11.90/mo billed annually (€13.90 monthly) · full pricing as we read it on 11 Sep 2026 ↓

What buyers report about SimplyBook.me

Recurring themes from the buyer-review sites listed at the foot of this page, read in August 2026. We have not run SimplyBook.me ourselves, so this is other buyers' experience rather than ours. We summarise it here because the complaints are usually the part a vendor page leaves out.

What they praise
  • Easy for both sides — clients book without help and owners get their schedule organised without training.
  • Automated reminders cut no-shows, which is the outcome reviewers name most often as paying for the subscription.
  • Google Calendar sync is reported as reliable.
  • Content and layout of the booking page can be customised without hitting restrictions.
What they complain about
  • The pricing model is called complex — bookings and custom features cap you independently, so the plan you need is hard to predict.
  • The 50-booking limit on the free plan is the most cited hard stop.
  • The admin interface is described as dated.
  • Add-on costs run above what buyers expected.
  • You cannot write different confirmation emails per service.
  • Booking outside your usual availability means falling back to another tool.

When the paid plan is worth it

The free plan is genuinely usable and that makes the decision unusually clear: 50 bookings a month, one provider, one custom feature, no card. If you take fewer than 50 appointments a month and work alone, you may never need to pay. What pushes you up is rarely the booking count — it is the custom features. Free gives you one, Basic three, Standard eight, and only Premium makes them unlimited.

Intake Forms, Accept Payments, Coupons & Gift Cards and Membership are each one entry on SimplyBook.me's own custom-features list; ordinary reminders are not on that list at all. So it is the paid extras that move you, and a business wanting all four is at Basic's ceiling of three before it starts, which means Standard at EUR 24.90. The other trigger is your own branding. Free and Basic show SimplyBook.me on your booking page; the white-label footer starts at Premium (EUR 49.90 annual), and full branding with a branded favicon only at quote-only Enterprise.

If you are sending clients to that page from your own site, price that in before you compare with the cheaper tiers.

How to actually use SimplyBook.me

Count two numbers before you pick a plan, because they cap you independently: appointments a month, and how many custom features you actually need switched on. Most people size on bookings, hit the feature ceiling first, and upgrade twice. Start on Free rather than the trial. The 14-day trial runs on premium features, so it tells you what the top plan feels like and not whether the tier you intend to buy is enough.

Free is permanent and renews monthly — build the real booking page there. Build the booking page first, then count what you actually need switched on, because their custom-features list is where the plan ladder bites: Intake Forms, Accept Payments, Coupons & Gift Cards and Membership are each one entry on it. Connect your payment processor after that, remembering their fees are charged by Stripe, PayPal or Square directly and not by SimplyBook.me.

Distilled from SimplyBook.me's own pricing page https://simplybook.me/en/pricing, including the plan comparison table, the monthly/annual toggle and the free-plan terms, read 2 August 2026 and re-read 2026-09-11 with every plan name, price and limit identical on both readings; their custom-features list at https://help.simplybook.me/index.php/Custom_Features (read 2026-09-11) for which features are metered — it names Intake Forms, Accept Payments, Coupons & Gift Cards, Membership, Flexible Notifications and SMS Gateway among more than a hundred entries, and carries no standalone email- or SMS-reminder feature.

The natural comparison is Calendly or Acuity Scheduling — simpler scheduling tools.

Frequently asked questions

What should I weigh before buying Operations & Workflow software?

Usually it sits on top rather than replacing everything. Tools in this class tend to become the layer where work is tracked and handed off, while your existing systems stay the source of truth for their own data. Before you buy, map which tools it would replace outright and which it would merely sync with. If the answer is that it syncs with all of them, you are adding a layer rather than removing one.
