Nexis CRONexis CRO Review (2026)

E-commerceResearched assessment · by Daniel HaketUpdated 2026-09-16

Nexis CRO has no track record at all.

Best for: Shopify merchants who already care about being cited in ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity, and who want the audit, the schema deployment, the llms.txt file and the citation tracking in one app instead of stitching them together..

Entry price per month, USD. Our own dated readings of 25 e-commerce tools — not a market survey, and cheapest is not best.

Free, then Pro $9 a month or $99 a year, Growth $21 or $121, and Agency $44 or $344. All charges are in USD and recur every 30 days, and the paid tiers carry a 2-day free trial — short for judging a tool whose whole promise is a change in how AI engines see you. The meter is AI credits: Free gives 5 a month and a single audit, Pro 100 with unlimited audits and history, Growth 300, Agency 500.

Read Agency's “500 AI credits (unlimited usage)” against that number rather than past it: the credits are the ceiling. The yearly discounts the vendor advertises do hold up when you check them — 8% on Pro, 52% on Growth, 35% on Agency. Plans change — always verify the live price on their site.

The catch

The app launched on 9 June 2026 and its App Store listing still showed a 0.0 rating from zero reviews when we read it on 14 September 2026 — so every claim about what the audit catches, how good the AI rewrites are and whether the citation tracking is accurate rests on the vendor's own description. That matters more than usual here, because AEO tracking is a young field: nobody has yet shown that being cited by ChatGPT or Perplexity moves revenue, and the numbers a tracker reports are hard for a merchant to check independently.

The free tier is also thin — 5 AI credits and one audit a month is enough to see the interface, not to test the product.

What Nexis CRO does

Shopify app that runs a 34-check SEO and AEO audit across products, collections, pages and policies, rewrites the gaps with AI, deploys JSON-LD schema and an llms.txt file, and tracks whether ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity cite your store. Free plan; paid $9 to $44 a month.

What buyers report about Nexis CRO

Nothing, and we would rather say so than fill the space. We looked for independent user reviews of Nexis CRO on the buyer-review sites listed at the foot of this page, read in September 2026, and found none at all. That points to a young product rather than a badly reviewed one, but it does mean there is no crowd verdict to weigh: judge Nexis CRO on your own trial, not on anyone's score.

When the paid plan is worth it

The step that matters is Pro to Growth, and only if you pay yearly. Pro yearly is $99 and Growth yearly is $121: $22 more for the whole year buys three times the AI credits (300 against 100), twenty tracked prompts instead of five, three AI models instead of one, plus citation-gap alerts and competitor benchmarking. That is the cheapest real upgrade on the page. The same step month to month is $9 against $21, which is a different proposition entirely — and Growth billed monthly costs $252 a year, more than double the $121 yearly rate for the identical plan.

So the honest advice is to decide the tier on the yearly column and ignore the monthly one unless you genuinely intend to cancel within a few months. Agency at $44 (or $344 a year) is a different product: it manages up to five child stores. If you run one shop, there is nothing above Growth to buy.

How to actually use Nexis CRO

Run the free audit before you pay anything: it scores the whole store across 34 checks and hands you a prioritised fix list, which is enough to judge whether it is finding real problems or generic ones. Fix a handful by hand first and see whether the score moves for the right reason — the AI Quick Fix will rewrite meta tags and thin content in one click, and a tool that rewrites at scale is exactly the kind you want to watch closely at small scale first.

Note the audit cap: one a month on Free, so plan that single run for after you have made changes, not before. If you go on to track citations, write down where you stand on your key prompts on day one, because the tracker only tells you something once it has a baseline to compare against. And treat the 2-day trial on paid plans as a tour of the interface rather than a test of results.

Distilled from The Shopify App Store listing at apps.shopify.com/nexis-cro-ai-seo-aeo-audit, read 14 September 2026: the four pricing cards with their credit allowances and feature lists, the feature summary, the “Launched June 9, 2026” line and the rating block, which reads 0.0 from 0 reviews. The vendor's own site nexiscro.com publishes the same four tiers at the same prices.

Frequently asked questions

What does Nexis CRO cost?

Free to start, then $9, $21 or $44 a month for Pro, Growth and Agency, billed in USD. What decides the real cost is the credit ceiling rather than the tier name: every plan meters AI credits, and Agency's advertised “500 AI credits (unlimited usage)” still stops at 500. Free hands you five of them and one audit a month, which is enough to look around and not enough to judge the product. Budget for the evaluation as well as the subscription, because the trial on the paid plans runs two days.

Is it worth paying yearly?

Here, unusually, yes — and it changes which tier you should buy. Growth costs $21 a month but $121 for a year, so billed monthly the same plan runs $252 a year, more than double. Against Pro's $99 a year, Growth yearly is $22 more for three times the AI credits (300 against 100), twenty tracked prompts instead of five, three AI models instead of one, plus citation-gap alerts and competitor benchmarking. Decide the tier on the yearly column unless you genuinely intend to cancel within a few months.

Are there reviews I can check before buying?

No. The app launched on 9 June 2026 and its App Store listing still showed 0.0 from zero reviews when we read it on 15 September 2026, so every claim about what the 34-check audit catches, how good the AI rewrites are and whether the citation tracking is accurate rests on the vendor's own description. The free tier gives 5 AI credits and one audit a month — enough to see the interface, not to test the product — and the 2-day trial on paid plans is a tour rather than a test.

What should I weigh before buying E-commerce software?

Check your platform and version specifically. Shopify support is close to universal in this category, while WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Magento and headless setups vary a lot, and 'supported' sometimes means a generic API rather than a maintained app. A listing in your own platform's app store, with recent reviews there, is a better signal than the vendor's logo wall.
