The subscription is a floor, not the bill: every tier reads “+ usage”, so model calls are charged on top. Free is $0/month plus usage and caps you at one agent and 1,000 runs a month. Individual is $20/month plus usage, or $16/month plus usage billed yearly, and lifts both caps to unlimited agents and unlimited runs. Business is quote-based. Because the metered part is uncapped, the tier you pick says little about what you will actually pay - the run volume does. Plans change — always verify the live price on their site.
What the pricing page doesn’t say
The honest build discipline: start every agent with usage caps, and treat 'no-code' as no-code for the plumbing — the logic design and prompt quality are still entirely on you.
What MindStudio does
Visual builder for AI agents and workflows across 200+ models, with model usage passed through at provider cost and no markup. The real bill is therefore subscription plus model spend: Individual is about $20/month, and a looping agent burns provider credits until you set caps.
What buyers report about MindStudio

When the paid plan is worth it
The free tier works for anyone testing a single workflow: one agent, up to 1,000 runs a month, and access to the same pool of 200+ underlying AI models as paid tiers, according to MindStudio's pricing page. The concrete trigger for upgrading is hitting either limit — needing another agent or exceeding 1,000 monthly runs — at which point the Individual tier, $20/month or $16/month billed yearly, removes both caps entirely rather than raising them incrementally.
What upgrading to Individual does not solve is anything related to team use: granular collaborator permissions, single sign-on, audit logs, custom SLAs, self-hosting, and custom domains are reserved for the Business tier, which is quote-only with no published price. So a solo builder outgrowing the free cap gets unlimited agents and runs for a flat monthly fee. A small team that needs shared workspace governance or compliance features still has to go through a sales conversation, regardless of how much it already pays at the Individual level.

How to actually use MindStudio
Getting started means creating a new agent, which drops you into the MindStudio Editor on an Automations Canvas with a default Start and End block. From there you add blocks — User Input for form fields, Generate Text for model prompts, Display Content for output — wire them into a sequence, and use the Preview button to run it before clicking Publish to deploy. No API key is required for this core loop; you just need a MindStudio account.
Where people get stuck, per reports on MindStudio's own community forum: the official "build your first agent in minutes" tutorial video predates a UI overhaul, so new signups following it land in a noticeably different editor than what's shown on screen. A separate forum thread describes a deployed agent that couldn't summarize outside content and instead replied that it "cannot access external websites," pointing to a block or configuration step for external fetching that isn't obvious from the basic tutorial flow.
