Passive Income With Crypto Systems — The Honest Version
Let me be blunt, because too few are: most 'passive crypto income' content is selling you a dream. After two decades in banking I've seen every flavour of 'set it and forget it', and the forget-it part is usually where the money disappears.
Here's the honest version — what can be semi-automated, and the hard truths the gurus skip.
'Passive' is mostly a marketing word
Running an automated system is not passive — it needs monitoring, maintenance and capital you can afford to lose. Anything promising hands-off guaranteed returns is a red flag, full stop.
What's actually semi-automatable
You can automate execution of a strategy you understand (via a bot + exchange API). You cannot automate away market risk, drawdowns, or the need to babysit the system. The realistic goal is 'less manual', not 'free money'.
If you still want to try — do it safely
- Only risk money you can fully afford to lose.
- Build and test with Replit + a regulated exchange like Bitvavo , starting read-only and tiny.
- Be deeply sceptical of any paid 'signals' or 'guaranteed' systems.
Frequently asked questions
Is passive income from crypto realistic?
Truly passive, guaranteed crypto income is not realistic — that framing is usually marketing. You can semi-automate a strategy you understand, but it still needs monitoring and carries real risk of loss.
What about staking or 'yield'?
These exist but carry their own risks (lock-ups, platform risk, token volatility) and are not guaranteed. Research independently; this is educational, not financial advice.
Why are you so cautious about this?
Because honest is the whole point of this site. Over-promising 'passive income' is how people lose money they couldn't afford to. Test small, stay sceptical.
