Finance tools are trust-critical: the bar is accuracy, compliance and real support, not flashy features. So where does Bybit actually fit? Most people land here while weighing it against Binance, so that is the comparison this review keeps coming back to: does it do the job you actually need, without charging you for the parts you don't?

Crypto exchange covering spot, perpetuals and options. No subscription — spot is 0.1% maker and taker for non-VIP, derivatives around 0.02% and 0.055%, with volume tiers cutting lower. Funding rates on perpetuals are a recurring cost the fee table does not show, and availability differs per country.
No subscription — per-trade fees (2026): spot base 0.1% maker/taker for non-VIP; derivatives around 0.02% maker / 0.055% taker; options ~0.03%. VIP tiers (by volume or balance) cut rates toward zero, with maker rebates at the top. Plans change — always verify the live price on their site.
Correction after re-checking: Bybit publishes no negative maker fee. The standard table runs from VIP 0 — 0.1000% maker and taker on spot, 0.0200% maker and 0.0550% taker on Perpetual & Futures — down to Supreme VIP, whose Perpetual & Futures maker rate is 0.0000% and whose Options maker rate is 0.0050%. That is zero, not a rebate. The Pro Users & Market Makers tab ends at the same floor: Pro 6 pays 0.0000% maker on derivatives across all five symbol groups. That tab does use rebate wording — it describes Group 1 as carrying "adjusted Maker rebates" and Groups 4-5 as carrying "increased Maker rebates" — but it attaches no rate below 0.0000% to any group. The only rebate percentage Bybit publishes sits outside both tables, in the Market Maker Incentive Program, which the fee page describes as "up to 0.01% maker fee rebate" and which requires a separate application. A rebate figure is therefore something you apply for, not a number any fee tier hands you. Note also that Bybit states actual rates may vary by region and directs users to their own My Fee Rate page. (re-verified 31 Jul 2026)
Derivatives are the draw and the danger: leverage cuts both ways, and funding rates on perpetuals are a real recurring cost the fee table doesn't show. Regulation-wise, check what Bybit may offer in YOUR jurisdiction before funding an account — availability and product range differ per country, and that's the part most fee comparisons skip.
Recurring themes from Trustpilot, app stores and exchange reviews, read in August 2026. We have not run Bybit ourselves, so this is other buyers' experience rather than ours. We summarise it here because the complaints are usually the part a vendor page leaves out.
Where the ratings disagree. 4.7 in the app stores against 3.2 on Trustpilot. People rate the trading interface highly and the withdrawal experience poorly — those are two different products to the same customer.
Bybit's own onboarding runs five steps: register with an email or phone number, complete Identity Verification, deposit crypto, buy crypto, then explore its beginner-recommended products. Step two is not optional. Bybit's KYC table marks crypto deposit, spot trading, derivatives and Earn as unavailable without verification, so an unverified account can only withdraw — capped at 20K USDT daily and 100K USDT monthly. Standard verification (identity assessment plus proof of identity) is what makes a first trade possible and raises the daily withdrawal ceiling to 1M USDT. Bybit puts the check at about 15 minutes but says it can take up to 48 hours. Where Bybit setups actually go wrong, and what it costs you when they do. Same sources as the setup notes above — not from a walkthrough we ran ourselves.
Nearly all the friction sits in that one step.
Both columns come from the same place: each vendor’s own published pricing, read on the date shown in the sources at the foot of this page. We do not average them into a score.
The natural comparison is Bitvavo or Kraken — Bitvavo is the euro on/off-ramp specialist, Kraken the regulated all-rounder — Bybit wins on derivatives depth. Weigh it against Binance on the job you actually need done.
Everything we publish about Bybit links back here — the review stays the honest hub:
The ex-banker filter — the same yardstick on every review (how we review): My ex-banker filter is simple: does Bybit remove a real cost — time, errors, missed revenue — bigger than what it charges? If the job above is genuinely yours, it's worth a look. We never publish fake or “exclusive” prices, so always confirm the current plan on their site.
The bar here is higher than features. Check who actually holds the money and under what licence, whether client funds are segregated, what audit trail and permission controls you get, and how support behaves when something goes wrong mid-transaction. Anything touching payments should be able to answer those in writing; if it cannot, that is your answer.
Skip it if you're a buy-and-hold beginner (a simple euro-native exchange is safer territory), or derivatives aren't available to you locally. Buying a tool to fix a problem you don't have yet just adds cost and another login to manage.
