Metered on unique monthly visitors, counted once per browser per 30 days. Sold two ways: a popup-only product priced by visitors, or Emails & Poptins priced by the size of your email list.",
 "best_for": "sites that want popups, forms and coupons with a genuinely usable free tier and a cheap first paid rung — $20 a month billed annually for 10,000 visitors, unlimited popups and no Poptin branding — and small teams that want popups and email together, where Growth starts at $19 a month for 500 contacts and already includes user management",
 "skip_if": "you need more than one administrator on the popup-only product, which is a $95 tier rather than a $20 one; you have heavy traffic but a small list and want the combined product, because its visitor allowance only rises with the contact band; or your traffic is measured in views rather than unique visitors, where a view-metered competitor may cost less",
 "honest_knock": "Poptin sells two products behind one toggle, and the catch depends on which one you buy.\n\nOn the popup-only product, team access costs more than traffic does. The pricing page crosses out Manage accounts and Manage users on Free, Basic and Pro, and ticks them only on Agency. If more than one person needs to administer your popups, the real entry price on that ladder is Agency at $95 a month billed annually, not Basic at $20 — four and a half times as much, for a permission rather than for volume. The combined Emails & Poptins Growth tier includes both permissions from its $19 band, so a small team that also wants the email side may find the combined product the cheaper route, as long as 5,000 visitors a month is enough.\n\nOn the combined product, the visitor allowance moves with the size of your email list rather than being chosen on its own. Growth at $19 carries 500 active contacts and 5,000 visitors; you reach 75,000 visitors at the 7,500-contact band, which is $95. A site with heavy traffic and a small list ends up paying for contacts it does not have in order to get the visitors it does.\n\nThe free plan is thinner than the feature list suggests. It carries 1,000 visitors a month, which is real, but Unbranded carries a cross, so the free tier shows Poptin's own branding on your popups. That is normal for the category, but the pricing page lists that row under Free without making the distinction obvious.\n\nAnd read the meter definition before you size yourself. A unique visitor is counted per browser, not per person: the same buyer on a phone and a laptop is two, and anyone who clears cookies becomes new again. Your real headroom is therefore lower than your analytics suggests.",

Free is $0 forever with 1,000 unique visitors a month, one domain and unlimited poptins. Basic is $20 a month billed annually ($240 a year) or $25 billed monthly, for 10,000 visitors and one domain. Pro, marked Most Popular, is $47 annually ($564) or $59 monthly, for 50,000 visitors and four domains. Agency is $95 annually ($1,140) or $119 monthly, starting at 150,000 visitors with a dropdown that climbs through 300,000, 500,000, 750,000, one million and two million, plus unlimited domains and premium support. The stated 20% annual saving checks out at all three paid rungs ($60, $144 and $288 a year).\n\nPick Emails & Poptins, the combined product, and the ladder is priced by the size of your email list. Free is $0 for 250 active contacts, 500 emails and 1,000 visitors. Growth, the tier the page marks RECOMMENDED, follows a contact selector with eighteen bands: $19 a month for 500 active contacts (with 5,000 visitors a month), $35 for 1,500, $95 for 7,500 (with 75,000 visitors), $269 for 25,000 and $1,279 for 200,000 (with two million visitors). Every Growth band includes unlimited emails, segments, campaigns and automations, unlimited domains and poptins, no Poptin branding, account and user management, the Poptin API and premium support. Enterprise is quote-only in both modes.\n\nA correction: our first reading on 18 September recorded no amount on the Growth card. That was wrong. The figure renders on the live page, as Poptin pointed out to us, and this section now carries the amounts as read on 10 October 2026.\n\nThe meter is unique monthly visitors, and their FAQ defines it: anyone who loads a page carrying the snippet in the last 30 days, counted once however many sessions or pages they open — unless they clear cookies or switch device or browser, in which case they count again.",

  "name": "Hello Bar, Moosend",
  "why": "Hello Bar is the closest comparison we carry, and the unit is the whole story. From our own dossier (re-verified 3 September 2026) Hello Bar charges $29 a month billed annually for up to 50,000 popup VIEWS, $49 for 150,000 and $99 for 500,000, with the limit applied per website. Poptin charges $47 for 50,000 unique VISITORS and $95 for 150,000. On the headline numbers Hello Bar is cheaper at every rung — but a visitor who sees three popups is one visitor and three views, so the ladders only line up if your visitors each see a single popup. Past roughly 1.6 popups per visitor, Poptin's unit is the cheaper one at the same number. Work out which you are before comparing the prices.\n\nThe free tiers differ in kind rather than degree: Poptin gives 1,000 visitors every month, Hello Bar gives 5,000 views in total rather than per month. One is a small permanent allowance, the other a trial with no clock on it.\n\nMoosend is the peer for the email half, and both price by list size: Moosend across 21 steps from 500 to a million contacts, quoted monthly, biannually or annually (re-verified 6 September 2026), Poptin's Emails & Poptins Growth across eighteen bands from $19 a month for 500 contacts to $1,279 for 200,000 (read 10 October 2026), with popup traffic bundled in. Compare them at your own list size, and count the visitor allowance that comes with each Poptin band as part of what you are paying for."
